prog-rock progressive instrumental fullband odd-time-signature
FAWM wouldn't be FAWM without me doing at least one track in 7/8. Although it does revert to 4/4 in the middle...
Interesting timing. Great playing. I like the peer drums. A bit of a Rush vibe. Nice progression with the keyboards. Love the guitars. Makes me want to write a progr rock instrumental.
Oh, 7/8! Very often I can't figure this one out, but here it's obvious and nicely handled.
I was super happy while listening to the first part, dancing to that odd signature, and then off we go to some different soundscape. There's a very pleasurable sense of moving forward here, a "Ariadne's thread" of sorts that guides us through your bizarre, affable scenery. Really great.
Chris, this is ******* ace! It almost has that Shepard tone 'constantly ascending but not really' vibe to it. I don't know how you do this stuff. So cool.
Production is massive and all the badassery, too.
Ah, here it finally is: the legendary lost 30-year-old Steve Hackett track found in the vaults! Much better than his official works at that time!
This is your best track until now, but there's still more to come I suppose. Very well done. I like it!
For me prog happened at a point when flares exceeded a certain width.
How you keep it alive with normal trousers is mystery to me.
But you do, and you do it with expertise and just a beard.
Blimey this is excellent. Love that guitar as usual.
I love when you do 7/8! This is so prog in such a cool way, I totally dig it
So good listen to some real prog!
Delicious prog. I love the various guitar tones you have playing here. Adds a lot of density to the lovely complexity of the musical phrases.
See You In The Shadows…
Rush or Yes inspired prog rock. I don't get the 7/8 time signature, I'd probably try to play it in 4/4 and be constantly missing the 1 beat!
Man, I wasn’t sure where this would go, but you certainly put the prog rock together in a really smooth and natural way. 7/8 and smooth? Wow. I would love to hear a vocal on this, but it works really well on its own. Well done!
Awesome... I love 7/8 but love it even more when it doesn't feel strange or forced. I could totally hear Peter Gabriel singing over this. Epic and beautiful and huge!!! 😀
whew, large exotic vistas opening up. wonderful sounds. i think i detect the 7/8, but can’t work out what the kick drum is doing— too crazy for me. absolutely love the massive sound!
Fun progginess here.
I tried to guess the time signature. And now my head hurts, so I'm just gong to concentrate on how damn trippy the whole thing sounds. It's as if Vangelis and Meshuggah had been locked in a room and told to write something MIND-BENDING 😁
This is top prog, sir! I love it 😁
EDIT: just read the liner notes. Silly me. Sill can't work it out, even though that's the same signature as the intro riff to Blackened by Metallica which I like to play as a warm-up when my right hand is feeling up to it... 😉
