This one started with the title and took awhile to find the angle. This is played almost entirely on unfamiliar instruments, i.e. three guitars, including a cigar-box guitar I built from a kit in January, plus my trusty Ashbory bass.
The person yelling in the distance was totally unplanned, just happened when I hit record. Possibly someone fed up with the third ice storm in a week.
She can spin straw into gold
And spin the greatest yarn that's ever been told
She's got the perfect alibi
She's got the biggest slice of pie
Why do I think of her and get annoyed
Why do I crave a taste of schadenfreude
When I could jump into the action
And have what she's having?
Wonder who profits from the times we feel jealous
Who fills the void with distractions to sell us
What conquers us when we are divided
I'm trying to be more enlightened
When I'm pursued by the green-eyed dementor
I can turn her into my mentor
Satisfaction is the best satisfaction
I'll have what she's having
