kantele junk music avantgarde
A piece for Kantele and junk metal.
This is nostalgic for me. Many, many years ago my sister and I made a Halloween tape, and our intro was not unlike this. We also used a Kantele and various objects, miked through my old amp with lots of reverb, and recorded live on an ancient reel-to-reel tape machine. Unfortunately, that tape, along with many other tapes from my youth, disintegrated into dust.
Hi, this is Mr. McGaughey. I listened with 3 of my grade 7 music students. Here are our comments.
Mr. McG. The scrap metal sounds so atmospheric and trippy-- almost oriental.
T: It sounds like if you wanted to make music using stuff you can find almost anywhere. It could be in a video game.
B: It sounded like something out of a horror movie, creepy and apocalyptic.
J: It could be in a cult movie.
This has a really cool, ambient vibe. I love the zither-type sounds. And all of the percussive noises work really well together.
