This is really dark and makes me think of some EDM groups I used to listen to like Wumpscut and VNV Nation. Especially VNV Nation! This is just so dramatic and theatrical like that. Then the transition at 1:21 breaks out into that super high-energy part... I love that! And when you cut back on the hi-hat at the end it's a good way to signal the outtro.
This is badass. I need to dig out some more electronic music like this to listen to in my car... I recently got a compilation album called "Magnatron" with artists like Waveshaper and Tonebox, and I dig it, but it's a bit slower and more plodding compared to music like you are doing, which is way better to dance to and drive to.
This is one of those songs that you really can't help but what to dance to, even sitting in place. It also made me want to get up and go accomplish somewhat hazily defined but important things. I think that means you nailed it!
Wow, this is HUGE! That synth bass is a beast and it just drives everything before it like a herd of happy mecha-brontasaurus. Each part of this develops and becomes more and more interesting to listen to. It's an absolutely class piece of composition and arrangement.
You sent me on a journey with this! It was like going up into the clouds and then reaching the earth's stratosphere... and then coming back down again. Awesome work!
I know you have tagged this EDM and trance, but this seems very cinematic to me. Some very heavy bits at the outset get contrasted with the piano and then a really well-orchestrated uptempo section to follow. Event the drums are not traditional EDM choices. This seems like a very cleverly crafted cinematic piece, and I really dig it. Tasty stuff.
Nice beat and dirty synth flow. I like the transitions on this song a lot. Very clever to pepper in live instruments in there.
Even though the piano was unexpected, it didn't jar because of that. I do think it takes a lot of skill in EDM to do transitions well, and you definitely have that
Wow... Nice blend of Genre This is a change from your previous years.
Even has that Orchestral strings within. Like the speed and drive it has.
Just came here from @headfirstonly. The two of you should get together and combine his prograock with your electronica. Full marks for actually creating music with form, pattern, melody, harmony, assonance, dissonance and the rest! I think this one can join some of your other on rotation once I dwepart from FAWM again!
A hard, almost sad driving beat, then that break sounds like an epiphany, then hope and resolution. Nice story telling without any words! I still struggle with this genre. I'm coming around. Stuff like this helps. 😀
Love the transition to the piano!
I've been enjoying Slack chat. So I wanted to check out your stuff. Like @candle wrote below, I'm not an EDM guy at all. I'm not up on the scene or what sort of expectations the audience brings to the music. It is VERY danceable, and I like the structure of it.
That bass is pure filth! I love the ascending line it turns into. Once the track kicks in it’s awesome. You have some great hooks going on in this. Loving your work
Love when it kicks in at 1:20. That piano beforehand ain't shabby either. 😀
Not being an EDM sort of guy, I really enjoyed this one. The mood you create is really fun and it feels like there is a lot going on. Great production!
See You In The Shadows…
This is super neat, I really enjoyed it.
I like the sounds a lot 😀
I hear lyrics even though this is an instrumental. The sections are telling parts of the story!
This is the kind of track I would want to hear in a dance club with some swirling lights.
This has a great 90s europop sound to it. The different sections keep it interesting, and that driving beat makes it very danceable. I wonder if the breakdown should maybe come a little later in the track, after the dancingness has been well established, but 'tis merely a thought. Nice one.
I like the transition around the 1:20 mark and the overall track has a good driving feel to it, would be a nice track to drive on the highway at night to.
I wasn't expecting the piano to come in like that. It's a cool transition/dynamic. I like the syncopated feel in the main synth sound. It definitely has that get up and move feel.
