As the space age of the 20th Century gave way to the information age
that would define the early 21st Century, humankind’s fascination with thecosmos had waxed and waned like the moon itself. Early industry on
Earth’s moon had lead to a short, but worldwide, obsession for collectingmoon rocks. Soon enough, the market collapsed due to over saturation. The economic fallout and accompanying political drama tainted much of the worlds’ romantic view of the heavens. Even the rocks Luna, from the once revered, storied and legend-soaked heavenly body, had been commercialized into meaninglessness.
The heavens were for sale and the price was falling fast.
It was the tendency towards war, violence and general competition that kept homosapiens expanding into the cosmos. Established in the early twenties of the 21st Century, the Space Force was originally intended to provide defense for one nation. That roll expanded as more and more left Earth to settle elsewhere in the solar system. By the dawning of the 22nd Century the Space Force had lead humankind into a new era of exploration, mapping the entire solar system and discovering a source of nearly limitless energy by accident: the Entropy Pump
