I am Woman

Liner Notes

First song of FAWM 2019. Inspiration was a few podcasts I have been listening to. Mainly Oprah and Eckhart Tolle and "The New Earth". Also loved Oprah's Master Class with Sharon Stone. Definitely worth a listen. Very inspiring.

All made with Band-in-a-Box from PG Music (see my profile if you are interested in learning more about this awesome tool).

As per the remix challenge posted by @cblack all the stems for all my songs will be posted here. https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/sha...
if anybody would like to remix please go wild!

Lyrics

I am water
I am fire
I am strength
I am desire

I am not my voice
Nor the colour of my skin
I am not my clothes
I am not defined by things

I am human
I am woman
I am enough

I am courage
I am night
I am the moon
I am the light

I am not my body
Nor am I my name
I am not my face
I am not defined by pain

I am human
I am woman
I am enough

I dont know where life's road will lead
I'm only ever guessing
I want to take only what I need
And remember the blessing

I am human
I am woman
I am enough

I am human
I am woman
I am

"I dont know where life's road will lead
    I'm only ever guessing
I want to take only what I need
    And remember the blessing"

I cannot even begin to express how much this stanza means to me on a very personal level. Thank you for bringing these marvelous truths alive through your beautiful music and entrancing voice.

Gorgeous vocals, all simple yet powerful lines, especially the entire first verse, "I am enough," "I am the light," "and remember the blessing." What a treat when the violin comes in, is that you playing? Just perfect!

Great job on this. Good melody and singing. I like the chorus I am human I am women...hooked me.

  • @pumpkinhead  Feb 2019

Totally sweet. Really nice and delightful production with such a concluding end.

Love the concept for this tune, also your choice of style. Simple, yet effective. One could easily sing along. Reminds me of "The Band" I think the bridge perfectly compliments the rest of the song. Also, love how you bring everything to a satisfying close with a simple "I am." πŸ˜€

Beautiful song and performance! πŸ˜€ Strong chorus! The structure is very effective. Repetition yet broken up occasionally.

I am woman/I am enough convey so much! I love the contrasts what she is and what she is not.
    β€œI am not my body
    Nor am I my name
    I am not my face
I am not defined by pain”
    So strong and empowering.
    Important message beautifully conveyed!

    Just beautiful Joanne
Crystal clear vocals and great musical production

  • @deonnek  Feb 2019

Beautiful positive sentiment and lovely delivery. Well done!

  • @tseaver  Feb 2019

Wow, the gamble of holding "I am" against "I am not" througout the entire song paid off big-time. The production leaves that tension in play, but accents the lyric nicely.

Hi Joanne! What an outstanding first song for fawm!!! Great to see you here

  • @sbs2018 Feb 2019

    Beautiful vocals/lyrics! Impressive!

You've achieved a beautiful, haunting, lush sound here. I'm always amazed when FAWMers post such polished songs, especially considering this is the first day and you've only had a relative few hours to put this together.
