cyberpunk electronic fawmtronica
I have been working on this one on and off for over a week! I just can't seem seem to get these last few songs finished up so whatever here it is. Fawm has me all used up!
More driving synth sounds! And our old cello friend made it back! The piano, though, is just perfect, nice single notes that have a big impact. Lots of drama and aggression.
There is a nice build to this one, it has a very dramatic feeling to it that increases as the song goes on. Those lower synth tones have a slightly menacing feeling to it but the higher parts give a little bit of a confirming feel to release some of the darker tension.
That low pulsing synth is my favourite kind of synth riff. Great drums, too. Have you tried a version of the percussion without quantization (J Dilla-style)?
I'm noticing you're using a lot more strings this year, or maybe you always have and I just forgot? Either way I like it. I like the reverb on that piano, it sounds really smooth against the intense beat.
Now that you mention it, that arp'd synth has a NIN feel to it. Are you Trent's secret producer? i REALLY like what's going on from 1:36 to 1:47....that requires some Lords Of Acid style singing over it.
This was fun! 😀
Sweet arrangement on the bassline. I really like when it slows down around 50 seconds in. Great buildup feeling for the whole first part! 😀
Overall your music sounds confident and purposeful, especially with the underlying beats. However, the word 'insecurity' in the title leads me to believe that you may still be wavering on the details of this song based on your liner notes. Or you want us to notice the ascending notes, which can also hint at a feeling of anticipation / insecurity. That's enough of my overthinking! You did super this year with all your music! Congratulations on your 14 pieces - you win!!!! 😀
Mantra killed my brain today. I was at this point where I thought I couldn't listen to anything anymore and that I should just go to bed, but I saw you won fawm with this. I *had to* listen.
And really, that's the cure my poor head needed after today's nasty catcore session. This piece is soooo pleasurable in every way. Thank you thank you thank you.
That grinding bass line is epic! Very foreboding sounding. Great way to hit 14!
Oh yeah, kickin it hard, love this. It really feels like a cycle, like turning a wheel in a factory, wondering if it will ever end but it doesn't since you just keep tracing the circle forever and ever.
