I Am A Grand Fawjah (again)

Liner Notes
This song has a few family quirks such as the Austin Powers reference to Father. It was a nickname given me by my daughter to help the kids distinguish her dad from their daddy's father. So I thought I would turn it into a fun song. Oh, it's a true story and Grandchild #4 was born yesterday 2/10/26. This song was actually written yesterday on his birthday but time didn't permit me to record it until today. I hope you enjoy the song. #folk #acousticonetake #guitar
Lyrics
I’m a Grand Fawjah (again) F.A.W.M. 2026 ©schnowd
Long about last April In the middle of the spring My Dawjah’s middle 5 year old would share a special thing We were at a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon And out of nowhere he just up and sprang some wonderful good news
Mommy’s gonna have another baby don’t you know And he said it as he looked at me not softening the blow I looked up at my Dawjah and she smiled at me wide eyed They told me some time later that my face was filled with pride
This was number four and I stood there still in shock I was so filled with joy it was impossible to talk She said he’d asked permission to be the one to share the news He smiled and looked so very proud, no way she could refuse
And now the summers over, it would soon turn into the fall A back yard party planned to tell the gender to us all Three siblings stood all in a row with balloons they would impale And the color of confetti strewn would quickly tell the tale
Pop, Pop, Pop, the balloons each made their loud and happy sound As the guests were shouting praises, the confetti floating round It’s blue, It’s blue, the three kids and everyone all said with joy The 5 year old began to shout, Mommy’s having a baby boy
Now it cold in the middle of winter as February has arrived But way up here in the upper Midwest we surely will survive Each day comes and each day goes as the special day draws near And we’re waiting till that little boy will finally appear
Today’s the day that everyone has so patiently waited for Don’t think I have the patience to be waiting any more He arrived early this morning, thanks to Son-in-law and my Dawjah Because of them, I’m proud to say, I am Four Time Grand Fawjah
(And Everyone Is Doing Fine)

Cograts Scott! What a beautiful tribute to a Wonderful experience. Hopefully you played this for your daughter? nice work!
What a great way to capture the birth of your new grandson. You really communicated a lot here. I especially like the second verse. Is this something you’d share with your daughter? I’d encourage you to do that at some point. Really lovely.
Beautiful song! Very sweet meaningful lyrics.
