"The Feather and the Book" ends where it began: with the protagonist, as characterised via the piano, gazing out the window. However, her adventure has changed her and given her a new perspective on things. The bird's leitmotif sneaks its way into this piece, as does an altered version of the protagonist's own leitmotif. Everything has come back around, and come together...but do we end on the satisfying note of certainty we need in order to know everything is finally, and permanently, all right? Listen to find out.
Well, this has been a lot of fun. I'm actually a novelist, and I'm naturally inclined towards long-form storytelling, so it was nice to put together a big long musical something that grew and evolved as it went. I'm going to be quite sad to leave it behind. Goodbye, nameless protagonist, mysterious prisoner, and THOROUGHLY FRUSTRATING BIRD. And thanks for listening, FAWM people who've been following along and/or dipping in occasionally. I've enjoyed hearing your pieces as well.
