My husband and I are currently working on a big arrangement of this song with guitars and drums but I figured I would post the rough demo of it for feedback. The arrangement will have an extended ending with a guitar play out. I go back and forth on whether or not I like this one.
Every wind chime was a nursery rhyme
I'm telling myself I've still got mountains to climb
Will you catch me when I'm tumbling down the side?
An avalanche of worry in my mind
The little child inside my head
She might remember how to scale the stairs like they're Mount Everest
I used to gaze in constant wonder
Chased by giants in the thunder storms
Now I roll my eyes at fairy tales
Idealistic and simplistic
I wish that I could flick a switch and snap back into it
But I have seen the man behind the curtain
I know all the levers that he pulls
And I've been charmed by my fair share of wolves
I've been charmed by my fair share of wolves
Dropped my guard for a moment
All my weaknesses exposed
Will you prey on the carcass
Or will you guide me home?
Will you guide me home?
