On the afternoon of 26th April 1937, the Spanish town of Guernica was holding its market day, visited by thousands from surrounding town and villages. At 4:30pm, the Condor Legion of the Nationalist forces commenced a three-hour bombing campaign on the civilian population, leaving hundreds dead.
I am currently reading a novelisation about it, and the description that stuck with me is how they tried to ring the church bells to warn people, but all that happened was that people wondered why the bells were ringing when it wasn't mass.
The bombing inspired Picasso's famous painting of the same name and now this, an attempt to tell the story aurally in 1.5 minutes. I would say "enjoy" but you won't, and rightly so.
