I've been "behind schedule" by about a day for the past week or so, and have found lyrics to be quite hard work this time around. so forgive me for making song 12 another instrumental. Actually, I think this one came out quite pleasantly...
One of my go-to playlists on Spotify for when I work from home (i.e. all the time since last March, thanks to COVID-19!), is one called "Sweater Weather Instrumentals". It's about five-and-a-half hours of fairly gentle acoustic pieces with a folky sort of slant - lots of acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and the like, but definitely on the "unobtrusive" side sonically. I figured: as I'm consciously going for an "alt-folk" direction this FAWM, why don't I come up with a piece which I think would fit into that playlist?
Recorded quickly on my TASCAM DP-006 digital four-track "pocketstudio", using my Faith Saturn acoustic guitar (two fingerpicked parts and one lead) and Crafter M70E mandolin. Finished off in Grand Finale and Twisted Wave on my iPhone.
