I was working on this song today for the "All on One Synth" or the "Casio" challenge - not sure which is the most appropriate. The keyboard in question is not a Casio (but I was going to argue it was just as cheesy) it's this one here:

Anyway, as I was developing this cheesy little blues about a cheesy little keyboard, played on just such a keyboard, my recently formed Drag Queen alter-ego "Queen Beaver" took over and began directing the lyrics off in a different direction. Looking at the finished product I had to admit, only QB could sing this one. So she's back, folks!
Hope you enjoy this. I had fun making it. In fact, this was the first time I have used the onboard sounds on the keyboard ever. I used to use it as a "Keytar" - it was (and probably still is) the cheapest one on the market. Only tiny keys, but it looked great on stage... OK it was the 80s!
I got this cheesy little keyboard
From nineteen ninety three
You can sling it round your shoulder
Or sit it upon your knees
State of the art back then
Now it's more passé than me
If I'd learned to play it,
You know I would have been a star
But these things take effort
And honey you know how things are
If you don't use lubrication
You're never gonna get very far
I love running my fingers
Up and down its neck
Squeeze that little pitch bend
Maybe give it a peck
Oh yeah, that go it moaning
Despite the fact I'm very low-tech
It's got loads of buttons
Don't know what half of them are for
I never read instructions
I prefer to explore
Thanks for the applause honey
Let me just do an encore
REPEAT Vs 1

Very fun tune. Your voice surprised me, in a good way. I haven't had a casio for decades. Well, I have a casio piano, but not one of those cheesy old keyboards. I had one and used to run it through guitar pedals to try to sound more "synthy".

This is brilliant. Everything just works about the song. So much fun too.

Holy crap I’m in love with these tones they are gorgeous. This sounds perfect. The lead lines in between the vocals are perfect. Great vocals also the singing is flawless. Love everything about this! We should have a yammiecore challenge I’ve always loved the old Yamahas better anyway.

Fabulous! The cheesy keyboard and risqué lyrics are a hoot. Vocals are divine, dahhhhling. Long Live Queen Beaver!

I probably enjoy this was too much! So wonderfully campy love that last line of the chorus and those lines about the pitch bend, lubrication, and buttons. This is simply great fun and so well done - clever and quirky and good! Love it!

I love the blending of two genres lost to time: casiocore and dirty blues. Some of these quintuple entendres would make a sailor blush. Well done.

Hey I recognize those drums!! I have lots of Casio, but love my Yamaha PSS more, haha. I have actually looked at this very keyboard on Goodwill but haven't ended up with it. 😉
Love the vocal - alter-ego to the rescue! Super fun bluesy goodness with the casiocore twist. I just love these sounds and you did well with the one synth! Very fun song!!
