This was written for a skirmish with the theme "Better Late Than Never." More like "Better Late Than On Time," but that's OK. It was also posted well after the hour alloted for the skirmish, which seems appropriate. It is also, I think, the shortest thing I've ever written for FAWM. Any more would be gilding the lily.
I first learned about the National Procrastinators' Club in about 1975. I immediately joined. I haven't paid my dues since Carter was president, which makes me a member in good standing. They are my inspiration for this.
We're the American Brotherhood and Sisterhood United of Procrastinators, Local 33!
We stand for liberty, justice, truth and putting off
Any task whatever it may be.
No calendar can stop us, no deadline can defeat us,
We'll set aside whatever comes our way --
We'll put off until the day after tomorrow
The things we can't put off until today. Yeah!
