I got the words and part of the tune done in the first hour, if you don't count the long and frustrating call with an insurance !company that interrupted my writing time. I'm sure feeling better, now, having returned to this song right after instead of focusing on that!
The recording is a bit wobbly, but hey, there weren't even any words two hours ago, so it will get better.
Late is Great (for Songwriting)

C Am Dm7 G (pause)
There is nothing like the wee hours
For working on a song
There’s no other humans listening
To say you’re doing it wrong!
It’s almost like there’s magic everywhere
With so many people sound asleep
C Am G Em
Where they can fly in the air or trot like a mare
C G C C Am Dm7 G C Am Dm7 G (pause)
The whole world feels both wide and deep
The world is hushed and quiet
You can clearly hear each note
Sweetly filling you own music space
You can just let the words float
You can listen to your heart sing
You can voice your most private fears
You can explore your weirdest daydreams
Out of reach of any judging ears
