I seem to be taking a literal approach to all the challenges this FAWM. Given the prompt to write the opposite of the song before this one in the chain, I began by doing two things: one was to reverse the demo, and the other was to reverse the lyrics. Or rather, I arranged the lines of the song in reverse order, and then wrote their opposites. Then there was some tweaking, so the lyrics no longer match up line for line.
Musically, I wanted to avoid vocal harmonies for once, as the previous song had some. The chorus I arrived at sounds a lot like the repeated chorus at the end of the previous song, reversed and sped up a lot, but I went ahead and wrote my own melody for the rest. Ideally, this would have been a fully produced track with electric guitars or something to contrast with the acoustic one before, but I certainly didn't have time for that and figured a capella would do in a pinch (there's still a contrast, just perhaps a lesser one).
Ooh, I am really gonna leave behind civilization
You can't find me!
You don't need me!
I'm sure without me the universe will collapse
And the estate will land in your lap
And all its weight will land on your shoulders
And it's fate will be in your hands
But you don't need me to make decisions for you
And you'll never find me, out in no man's land
I'm going down under and you're never going to pull me back up
If life is empty, I don't have to give a fuck
I don't have to live for the entertainment of others
I can just take off like a rocket
Let the earth shake all it wants, I'm happy
Keeping my whole world in my pocket
I don't ever have to move an inch
Or I can run wild, wherever I please
I don't have to be overwhelmed with loneliness
I can embrace the ground under my bare feet
You can't find me getting naked
You can't find me getting high
You can't find me getting all depressed and going off to die
Death is the next big adventure
Or actually probably not
But the point is I can go anywhere I want, and you can't find me!
