This started out earlier tonight when I picked up a 12-string guitar and just started playing. Stumbled into this riff/chord pattern, which feels like its borrowed from somewhere, and didn't know where to go lyrically with it. Started 'free associating' and kindof backed into this tangled meta-tale. Make of it what you will, I'm not sure what to think.
Did the whole folkie one mic (iPhone actually) no overdubs thing- that's me playing 12-string, singing, and playing harmonica on an old-fashioned harp rack, dylan-style.
Blue raindrops fall from far away, hitchin’ rides in clouds in the sky
The evening mist it comes out to play, chasing stars away like fireflies
Once upon a time, a dog saw a ghost, and the ghost was walking another dog
Never use French bread to make French toast, if you want to live high on the hog
You can park on a driveway and drive on a parkway, and never the twain shall be marked
When the jubilee comes a double portion is received, but only to those double parked
By now you’re wondering what’s all this then, and what could the meaning be
Go think what you will, significance depends, on one’s own philosophy
Blue raindrops will rise with a thunderous sound, and the earth becomes just like new
If we learn to dance with the things that hold us down, and hold on to a laugh we’ll pull thru
