More house-ish type stuff.
Vocal sample work, simple grooves, simple driving drum patterns, etc etc. I haven't bothered fixing the clipping and such, so sorry for your ears.
There's a lot of work needed on this, but thinking back to the kind of stuff I'm paying homage to, most of it didn't sound "finished" because it was just DJs doing stuff. In fact, a lot of that stuff had timing issues with the sample usage, odd if any structure, things that didn't quite fit...but it was and still is beloved and shall forever be.
Sometimes I wonder if I found an audience that likes this kind of stuff, if they would accept it. My uncle used to DJ and he played one of my tracks a few years ago and told me the entire club started jumping. That will forever make me feel some kind of way.
When I'm playing my basslines and chord and lead lines, chopping and manipulating vocals, programming drums...I sometimes imagine doing it real-time on a stage at a club somewhere so dark that I can't even see out onto the floor, and the people are just whooping and hollering.
But I make too many mistakes, flub too many chords, fingers slip too many times trying to do a synth lead solo, play drums off beat too often with my little midi controller...too many takes.
I'll stick to my DAW.
