I spent HOURS last night writing what turns out to be "More Than A Feeling" by Boston, so I was slightly in need of a short cut to my symbolic 7th song on V-Day.
This has been hanging around since fairly early Febuary, but when I looked at it today I realised that I'd done more than I thought. Apart from words obviously, because I always sing garbled nonsense. So I tried to degarble it a bit. If the vocals sound weird its because I sped it up by 5% to perk it up. I couldn't be bothered to do a properly interesting three part harmony on the chorus so it is a bit of a basic deal. I'm not sure about the mix, but I've realised that now I'm starting to think about that its another millstone, so I decided not to do any more thinking.
I suppose it is a kind of Valentine's Day song really, isn't it?
I found a way to be thankful for the day
So I closed both my eyes and I'm thankful
I closed my eyes and I'm thankful for the one
Who was pressing me down when I needed to be
Tell me what to say and I'll keep on talking
All I need to say till its past your bedtime
Tell me what you know and the things that you don't show
and I'll start to keep you smiling
It's time to sway to the music that they play
And we'll close both our eyes and be playful
Stars light the way as they shoal cross the bay
But our feet on the clay make us thankful.
I hope one day that we'll both smile and say
That the time passed away very quickly
