alt-rock fatherhood unfinished
I've been trying to improve this one for days but have given up and decided to move on because there isn't really time for that jazz.
Ooo! That kind of dirty guitar is my favorite kind of dirty guitar. It sounds like you want to come back to this one, and I think you should. There's some great dynamics here with the monster guitar coming in and out, the light harmonies, etc. Don't give up on it!
I hope you come back to this once you've given yourself a break from it because it's got a lot going for it. The chorus is really memorable especially, and I really like the atonlity in the melody on that "please don't ever change" line. Very Nirvana (as @davidtaro says below). Love the big finish too!
Always move on! It's usually 900% more time for a 5-10% improvement in the song. This one's super cool. Special mention for that intro, with all those little details - nirvana guitars, the weird wireless radio static, the way the bass comes in is very Bowie.
The fuzz guitar sound is NASTY, then I love how the second section comes down and suddenly it's the bass that's the star of the show (again, great tone on that, with just a little edge of crispy fuzz). Solo is bitching, nice and melodic. And then it comes right down before getting louder and louder to the finish - always the most fun and satisfying way to conclude a song. Well done mate 👏
