Very stoked to have captured this whole idea today. Stick around for the finale, it's worth it.
not this time
The thing that hits me about this is that endearing portamento on the lead line. This wouldn't be as funky or fun without it. And then when it all starts to kick off at 1:35 or so I started grinning, and I'm still smiling now. Splendid stuff!
The placement of all your melody lines, and even where you decide to swell the bass...its all perfection and masterfully done. Its like my mind can't even work that way.
Loving the bending of the lead synth. That subtle stabbing melody that comes in at 1:07, adds so much while still taking up so little sonic space.
Oh, the arping of the lead...good grief in the morning time then that swelling into 1:34 - that build was everything.
I just glanced down at a comment by hgz, "exquisite" is SO the right word.
I feel like I gush over your music, but dude its hard not to. The term 'ear-candy' is used a lot, but I swear that's what this stuff is. Its sweet to the ears.
Exquisite and fresh! The space after the snare hit gives the track a "stop and go" feeling at first, but I quickly became used to it.
Ahhhh holy shit, so sweeet!!
Woah! This hits reallllly nicely, you have amazing melodic ideas.
holy shit this is ace! starting off so cool; lots of movement to keep it fresh.. then it just gets more awesome at the break! did you get those breaks with a noise gate? whatever; masterfully done man
I just love this song. It's really emotional, especially how you've made the lead "sing" with those filter automations. You also used space quite effectivly. The drums are super punchy and the mix overall is so clean. Great work here!
Great start. Love the pauses after the snare hits. Dynamic. Nice snap/water drop! Nice cymbal swell. Ooh! When that little chirpy synth got dirty. That was sweet. Nice changeup in the arp section and adding in that reverb. So cool when the drop hits. This is GOOD stuff, Caleb! And strings? Unexpected but cool! What a dynamic piece. Really took me on a journey but never felt frenetic. Really like those occasional additions of reverb. GREAT WORK!
I dig bleepy stuff. This is loads of fun. I like how dynamic it is. It has a sinister edge to it at times in the dips, as well as being pretty huge at its peak. Much better than anything electronic I could pull off.
