This is an 'I tried to tell ya' tune.
Lyrics and guitar by me.
Music (Blues progression) by the ancestors. 😀
Happy Black History Month!
You don't hear me
So I'll say it again
You don't hear me
And it never ends
You don't hear me
For the third time and this a mess
I won't stop you
From trying again
I won't stop you
From wearing thin
All the patience
That I thought would never end
CHORUS
I knew you'd think twice about
Heeding the warning
Try something new
It's one thing you never did
You don't hear me
Bringing the news
You don't hear me
Singing the blues
You don't hear me
No matter what I say or do
I won't stop you
From your mistakes
I won't stop you
All yours to make
Like a baby
I'll sleep when you're wide awake
Chorus
Bridge:
Gotta decide
if you want to go far or fast
On the road of life it's agreed
Go fast alone but you should know
That when you lose control
The biggest prize in life's not for speed
I knew you'd think twice about
Heeding the warning
Something about you tells me
You never did

I had to hear another of you songs - keep making those demos!
Your voice is such a lovely instrument - melodic and soulful. And that's some nifty guitar work, too.

This is awesome!
I love the gentle bluesy feel and the great use of repetition and the meaning conveyed. Well done!!

Very good song and delivery. I agree with @debs about the Like a baby ... lines. the phrasing on the Chorus is great. Good guitar too. Nice contrast between the sweet singing and playing and the 'I tried to tell ya'" lyrics

This is quite delightful - the lyrics leap off the page and feel so darn singable! Love the "You don't hear me" repetition and the "Like a baby / I'll sleep when you're wide awake" is right on point. Really well done!
