mandolin melodica david-lynch headphones experimental short a-rare-bit-of-positivity-from-me
Hey there, folks!!
Here's a brief speech by the fabulous film director David Lynch set to some mandolin and Melodica weirdness.
Gosh I sure do love me some David Lynch.
Mixed for headphones, as usual.
Indeed that's our Dave, (First I thought damn you're doing a good impression, maybe even a little Burroughs, then I read your liner notes after) Great idea to take this poetry and put a brilliant atmospheric musical backing to it. Supernice.
#tit4tat2 - thanks for you first visit. Let me know if you want to go all 7 trades, I prefer to do a deep dive listen all in a row than one at a time over time. I like the immersion. Of course, you're free to take your time back.
what an inspired fusion of music and spoken word! those thorns of negativity don't have a chance against that mandolin and melodica!
Even if you hadn't put the DL speech in there, it's a lovely bit of music.
Two of my favorite weirdo artists on one tune 😀 great stuff in my favorite flavors of strange
Lynch! The man can do no wrong and you have wrapped some fittingly ethereal music around his mesmerising words!
I went to see the movie about him a year or so back - totally weird and great!
I love listening to him even more than his incredible creations.
I love listening to him with your warm treatment even more.
Sometimes I find myself commenting on songs using the Fuzzy format because it's so thoughtful and concise, then I become self conscious.
Great weather report.
Would make Mr. Lynch proud. The delay on the mandolin makes it for me. Was this from one of Lynch's "weather forecasts"?
haha, this was the most encouraging thing... most entertaining? Definitely the latter. You are a master of juxtaposition. I love this kind of stuff. So well done with all the echoes in stereo. Great work
I prefer sunflowers, or any other flowerplantthingy without thorns to begin with. I wish I could make music like he makes moves, Mulholland Drive is one of my favorites.
Well done. I like the way you underline the spoken word with sounds. And you too, have a great day 😉
Very cool and odd, for some reason this made me think of Lost Highway and Robert Blake walking with the camera.
Oh god, I appreciate the sentiment, but roses are soooooo cliche! The melodicas, melodici?, melodices?, are spot on though, as always.
Have a great day!
Cool piece, love the tones and the ambience. The use of quiet space is powerful.
oh my garsh, I have always loved this little speech of his, and this fits it way better than I expected. great choices, great sprinkles, supporting it and giving it enough space to grow. hahahaha, and dropping the reverb/delay for the end!
love how your playing is free in terms of time, but gets pulled together by the delay. nice work!!
I think he would approve!
Have you happened to catch any of his music? I quite enjoyed it. It's very, well David Lynch like. He plays guitar like a champ. Slaps it around a bit and pokes at it in various places 😁
Very cool. Provocative
Let's hope it's the last stand of the thorns. Very positive. 😀
Feels like sinking slowly into psychedelic quicksand, and the mandolin sounds really good against the melodica drone. I like Lynch's sentiments!
Love David Lynch! This would be amazing played as a motivational speech at conferences.
Love this type of thing, nice stuff. The delay and panning on the voice is well mixed.
Oh, that mandolin is almost scary. What a great soundscape. I love the melodica (of course!) & the David Lynch vocal. A classic @fuzzy song that we all love!
See You In The Shadows…
great track, love me some atmospheric music 😀 the instruments compliment and nestle his voice really well ! did you slow it down (voice) to make it fit the music or is that just the david lynch weirdness, or both ? lol
