As most I do, -- is a- 5 min write, dash-off, as-is, then musicated in a record while writing. Often words get chopped while musicating and etc.
(It's a song, not a novel 😀 )

I do keep the original in any track - always, phone, audacity, whatever. And pending how one defines a first-take, one-pass, (I will chop out "fishing", and wrong chords, since just keep playing and chop that; so, you may hear "pops" if could not grab the "dot" 😀 ) I used audacity and no plug-ins, "manual", "mixing" for headspace presence in a headphone.

This, and most are lo-fi, and if you keep your Sound Levels at 75-80% you may need to up it to 110 - 120% ish for any kind of Headphone Presence, fidelity (hahhh, so to speak).

- And yeah..., feedback, with why is always a good thing, why else be here 😀

I'm glad I had the lyrics to rely on, as there's some serious covert ops going on with all the homonyms. I'd never be brave enough to try 'vap'er ware', for example, but I'm glad you did.

This song was an interesting sensory experience. Mostly familiar, but with a general malaise and miasma permeating everything. I enjoyed the way the general idea was clear, but the specifics were all caught up in a vile sociopolitical fog. You leverage your unique approach to phrasal construction to good effect here.

Sounds great and I love the runon in the verses, so percusive and compelling against that gentle strumming. The mix is deep and wide. Tasty. I can see why this one gets deseverd attention.

*Thanks so much for visiting my "fave".

"How does the government, make it all work" - they don't..lol

Dark moody tune ..i dig it..

I could hear this over some fucked up action/violence scene from SOA or a Tarantino film

Nice one, some clever word play and acoustics sound very good!

Great! Listening in the morning helps the vibe!

This kind of dark-Americana vibe is right up my alley. Nice stuff.

Bill White beat me to my comment.
This has the feel of a discarded track from "Blood on the Tracks" - Er... that's a compliment, I hope you know.

"Plagues, feces..., and cafe-la-tays" that just about sums up the world we are living in

Your voice is epic! Nice job, ready to listen to more.

    👍

That little riff in the verse breaks is really tasty, and yeah that's a great pic for it too. It has a clickity clackity rolling feel to the whole thing.

It all comes together great in the last....well I guess first verse again.

We're all depressed and on the point of giving in but don't, yet. I particularly like the swing and unusual things you're doing with the time here, not to mention the lyrics (and that's a subtle but lethal bit of album art). Incidentally, I did my professional bit to keep the pollution down--two steps forward, three steps back.

Vocally what i think of as classic Usta - musically especially the start a bit different to my ear! got a nice roll about it! like this!
