So I woke up and saw that it's still February in some parts of the world, and in the same way that it's always 5 o'clock somewhere and therefore ok to have a cocktail, I figured it's fine to crank one more out, which brings me neatly over the finish line.
So here we are. It's a doof-doof track saturated in the best acid of the 90s. It's slapped together in the fastest way, but I think the concept is strong and I'll definitely revisit this properly when I'm not panicking.
I always feel mildly guilty making this sort of track, because it's kinda easy, but it's also huge fun and reminds me of a very chaotic and wild time in my youth, which I'm somewhat surprised I survived. But I do recall that we all generally had an attitude of positivity and wonder back then that we seem to lack now, and in recalling the acid sound, I'm tryna cheer you up a bit. K?
Have a nice 2020. Do some cool shit.
Back, before Facebook made us feel ugly, and Twitter made us feel stupid, there was this sound.
Way back, before Trump, before Brexit, before State Capture and mass surveillance, there was this sound.
There was a time when didn't feel helpless, when we didn't feel powerless, when what we thought and did mattered, and in that time, there was this sound.
Wherever you are now, in your car, on the train, at your desk, on the floor: it was not always as it is now. You are more powerful than you have ever been, and you can still effect change in this world.
