Well this is the last track for me unless i manage to eek out something miraculously!
This one feels slightly unfinished but I'll probably iron it out after FAWM - in the meantime I am pretty proud of as a concept.
In the same week of our wedding, sadly my Aunty passed away - It was an intense time for the family and upon opening the lovely and kind wedding cards we saw her name alongside my Uncles. It hit us both for a second whether she would have penned it. One of those small moments where you feel connected to someone. Bittersweet but also kind of beautiful. And you kind of never want to know.
Anyway, this has a been a wonderful FAWM and thank you all for the love. I will now commence to listen to the 100s of tunes i may or may not have missed!!!! See you in the comments!
Her fingers opened the envelope, cried at the name on the page
What good is money to anyone, if she couldn't be saved.
Mascara running on down your cheek, what good is love if it ups and leaves
She sat and wondered who wrote the name
Came for breakfast and company, took him sometime to warm up
Watched him wish it was her instead, conversation rolls on
Did you sit with her ;pen in hand - asking "have we given enough?"
And still we wonder who wrote the name...
Well it's a kind time from the outside but in leaving the storm front settles in
It's a quiet calm from the outset, but in daylight there's something to uncover
Took a train back twice that way, looking like a pause in the war
Like a Christmas in February, I've been through this before.
And if he sat with that empty pen, nothing much scratching the page
Does it matter who wrote the name?
