One of those moments when you see someone who just knocks you flat and you NEVER EVER forget..... two verses missing but I think I know where they are.... fairly strong rhythm on banjo I seem to remember plunking one day, a bit like Raglan Row for any Hibernophiles out there.
Walking home from work today
On Flatbush Avenue
I met a girl who smiled my way
And tore my heart in two.
Five foot nothing big green eyes
She walked without a care
Tartan slacks flat black shoes
Long red curly hair.
Flat on my back in Prospect Park
The sky a Vincent blue
The smell of new-mown hay
Dreaming my life away
Hoping life would send her back my way???
My friend's all say I'm home too much
Should go drinking with the boys
But I never could lose myself
In the bright lights and the noise.
