My concession to wanderlust. MY wanderlust may cause me to break away from this very typical verse arrangement. Any suggestions?
Are we stardust, drifting in the universe
Barely held together, our souls intact.
We may be bound by hydrogen and carbon
Yet without a care, our collective minds abstract
Imagine what it would be like
Passing through a timeless void
Without a sense of where or when we are
A comet here, a meteor there, perhaps an asteroid
Planetary spheres go drifting by
Some just boulders, dust and stone
While others may be blue and white, a chance of life
Where once we may have lived, but now we drift alone
How is it that we left a place like this
To evaporate into uncaring space
We once lived on a world where we thrived,
Filled with love and hate, and greed, a human race
Surely there’s another rock out there
Where we could live again, and learn to love and trust.
A planet like the one we left behind
Where we could end our endless wanderlust
