My first ever piece for FAWM (or anything). Giving myself permission to keep trying things.
Peace within me
Peace surround me
Peace flow through me
Love within me...
Strength within me...
Health within me..
Peace within me...
This would sound amazing sung by a hall full of people in an ashram!
Really nice vocal harmonies on the arrangement. 😀 Lovely song to listen to.
nicely done, and welcome to fawm! I like the arrangment and choice of instruments.
By the way, just so you know, if you want to respond to someone's comment, its better to respond on their personal page (just click the red link to their name) rather then putting it on the song page (most people don't go back to the same page they commented on and they won't see your comment if you put it here on the same song page). Enjoy fawm! keep on writing/recording!
Very enveloping and immersive; I feel like I could put this on a loop and just drift away into meditative bliss!
Nicely done! I was expecting it to be an acapella chant, the instrumentation was a pleasant surprise! 😀
@barbara , I used GarageBand with the "Wide Suitcases" setting the main chords (Am, Am7, Em7), "Emotive Melodies" for the bells, "Fingerstyle Bass" for the bass notes, and then I recorded my lead and harmony voice and my tenor ukulele.
I love the combination of instruments all hitting on the "1" beat. Almost a Balinese feel. I'd love to know what you are using there. Your voice has a beautiful and clear tone coming across the top of all of the sounds. I love to listen to chant music, and this is lovely. Welcome to FAWM! Keep 'em coming!
Wow! Thanks for the comments! I just woke up this morning and had to get something down. Of course I'm hearing the mistakes and yet I'm just trying to let it be and think that I'll improve on the next try.
Your first FAWM song?!?
Yeah, @calumcarlyle actually hit it on the head; this sounds a bit like something from Captain Beefheart's first album, "Safe As Milk".
Really well done!
Well done. Great mix and harmony uber-dub.
This reminded me a little bit of something from early Captain Beefheart, odd connection i know. I like what you have done with harmonising the melody and the oohs.
There's not much i can really comment tbh. I like it a lot though. I wish it were a lot longer actually. Just going round like that. I think it would make a great seven minuter, maybe with some gradual variations.
Love the lower counter melody. This sounds like it could fit on one of George Harrison’s solo albums. Cheers.
