improvised plank-spanking guitar instrumental rock
My bass student cancelled his lesson this morning. So this happened.
The title comes from me having binge watched too many episodes of Futurama. 😁
That takes you on such a journey. I can imagine it on the soundtrack of an extreme snowboarding movie.
Now I am finally starting to plow all the folks I wanted to listen to but had to push aside long enough to finish FAWM without feeling horribly insufficient. THIS track does not disappoint! I love your guitar tones... reminiscent of Satriani or Eric Johnson? And your playing of said tones is great, definitely definitively yours, of course. Beautiful transitions into the slower more elegant guitar solo parts. Huge sound overall, I really dig all this!
Well what a title to start off FAWM ! Always a good way to start a party lol
It has a really happy and positive feel to it, which of course matches the title !
Great energy and catchy guitar melody. After you mentioned Futurama this does have a sci-fi TV series soundtrack feel, not some serious series but for something that rocks. 😀 I also like the title.
I know the feeling of the futurama binge watch.....you nailed it hahah!
Awesome 80's feels, makes me think of heroes winning a battle in an animated film.
I like the main guitar line and how you expand on and return to it. To peak is definitely the part towards the end when you just breakup the entire line and then gradually build it back up. I would have loved an ending where you blare out the line like in the intro. Would have felt like coming home!
This is wonderful.
I’ve always loved (and been a bit jealous of) the melodic side of your tunes, and this is right up there!
There’s a magic in your songs where you match the accompaniment with the melody perfectly.
I’m sorry, I need to stop waffling. More tunes to check out!
There’s more in my head to say, but not the time, and I should get back to driving at work!
Yes. I dig it. Makes me want to get something together for us to work together on.
What a soaring fun lead guitar melody line... backed with the energy and excitement that the castle knows how to do so well. Lots of interesting bits and bobs. Super fun and just sounds like a theme song to something. They just need to find you. 😀
Amazing guitar riff / melody. Really jamming.
Sublime! This is SO David Hasselhoff in bright pink trunks.
Very Eric Johnson or Satrianiesque! I like it a lot. I admit that the title got me to click on it!
Well spanked, Mr. Dragon! 😀
Bastard. Made me click on this with the title. This is beach music for a soft core B-flick starring top rate pron stars who can't act. Can't compliment more than that!
Nothing wrong with being inspired by Futurama. Prog meets 80's instrumental rock. A great mix of sounds, moods and dynamics. Sounds like it was lots of fun to put together.
See You In The Shadows…
This is so much fun! Reminds me of 80s guitarists - a bit Vai, a bit Satriani.
Strongly progressive rock middle eight goin on in there. Scrumptious track. Stellar job right out of the blocks!
Good stuff as usual! My favorite section is when it slows down for a couple of measures and you have that dreamy synth sound joining in. That’s quite nice.
Quite excellent. Them pesky Bass players. Gotta say the title grabbed me, and the guitar is talking to me man.
when that driving beat drops out there is so much groove! soars. so much goodness to tune into. off to a rocking start! love the (very) slow fade out too
Righteous guitar mate
Well, duh! Of course I have to hear this one!! Smooth like butter, you are! Entertaining and a true joy to listen to! Awesome energy! I'm so glad you're here! 😀
Mellifluous playing...very niiiiiice!
Having a listen... let's all get naked....rock jam...guitar melody...sounds good...changeup here...perfect for vocals...good beat...good mix...changeup 3rd part...slower...pickup now to the original first part melody...jamming rhythm guitar....nice jam here...changeup music now...synth...guitar melody...nice work with the drums...changeup again....jam fade out. Very nice...I like it.
This is pure rock, but also has a bell-like quality that I'd expect from a hollow body jazz guitarist like Russell Malone or Johnny A. Lyrical lead and a great listen all-round!
Rocking smooth and slick as all get out.
That guitar sings melody and dances in fire.
Awesome and amazing. Great listen.
I've got lots of reference notes spinning through my mind after this. Something about the style brings the name Tony McAlpine to mind but I cant remember if that's a compliment or not 😀 Yeah, and I really dig the half speed break down. A synth choir is never the wrong choice.
Catchy, rocky great intro feels as if I am about to watch some great action movie
Loving the tone on the lead in this. Reminds me strongly of Eric Johnson, as does the playing. Very mellow, but lots of bursts of speed to keep us on our toes!
How cool and fun! Excellent and good to see you!
Nice one! Ace sound like always; love tje arrangement! That choir is glorious 😀
(Player isn't playing for me on Firefox so I'm using the download). Nice jam to have with breakfast. Not so much bread and board as jam and plank, right?
The uplifting melody sets the mood. Very catchy
Ah yes, the joys of what can happen in those surprise moments of opportunity. I really like this...For me it sounded positive and looking forward..Like the beginning of FAWM I suppose. 😉
I haven’t even made it out of bed yet, so ... you’re off to a great start my friend. The choral vibe about half way is a nice touch.
your guitar tone gives a light and happy feeling to guitar lines that could be really heavy and dark.
sounds great! love the change-up that happens at about 1:10 into the song, too- very effective and nicely 'proggy' so to speak. And the main melody is captivating. That guitar tone reminds me a little of Martin Barre, perhaps? nice!
Very catchy melody on that creamy sounding guitar? Is that the T’Watt amp? Great improvisation. 🤘
Love so hair metal music early in the morning. The break down is great - I love that choir pad. Excellent guitar slinging!
This rocks, great start. I'm dressed now but I am very tempted. I like the little drop in the middle section. As this is improvised it is really impressive.
