Still getting over a 2-week case of the flu, I am posting this on March 22, probably the lastest I've ever posted anything here.
The title is a takeoff on "Theme for an Imaginary Western", a classic FM rock song by the band Mountain from 1970.
I started with acoustic guitar and kept adding stuff throughout my illness...I even learned how to play this piano part from a video on YouTube. For the melody I enlisted several sounds from my Yamaha synth, mostly flute but also french horn, bassoon in the middle, then piccolo and flute again. You'll also hear synth strings and various real percussion and a real mandolin. Probably could use more variety in each verse to make it more interesting, and it might go on for one verse too long, but I don't feel like editing it right now. I reserve the right to bring this back in a later FAWM, possibly with a vocal, maybe in a different key or even totally unrecognizable to human ears. For now, it's hopefully a listenable, credible instrumental, which is not an altogether easy thing to make. 😀
There are no words. No, seriously, it's an instrumental.
