    Anyone have recommendations on a good place to duplicate a short run of an EP? Trying to keep costs down while retaining quality and having room for four-color artwork.

    @nancyrost Talk to @zecoop. He definitely does.

    @nancyrost This place has been recommended to me by several respectable music folks, right in your neighbrhood-ish; http://www.sooperdooper.net/

    @pipewrench67 I got the same recommendation from every local musician who's released a CD lately. We're going with someplace different for this long-distance collab, but I may go with Sooper Dooper for local stuff down the road.

    I used https://www.kunaki.com/ -- you can get 1, 5, 10, 25 -- whatever number you need. 2-panel full color insert (and back page, too). No special orders, though. You get what they give or you find another disc place.

    @kevinemmrich Do you have problems with discs skipping pretty regularly? I had that problem with the last run.

  • @kevinemmrich  7 weeks

    @tcelliott : I have gotten only about 20-30 discs total and I never had any issues (I haven't gotten one in a couple of years at least). Did they replace the skipping ones? But it would be terrible to have to re-test them since thay are shrink-wrapped. They "duplicate" and not press ("replicate"), but the duplication process should be flawless also.

    Based on recommendations from some other Fawmers, we did our last CD though Atomic Disc - https://www.atomicdisc.com/ - and they are great! Definitely give them a look, if you haven't already committed. 😀

  • @nancyrost  7 weeks

    @ericdistad that's what we picked!

    I used easydisc for my last album, pleased with pricing and service.

    I'm seriously considering doing cassettes with a download code as the only physical version of my album when it comes out. Does that make me a hipster d-bag? Perhaps. But cassettes are damned cheap, and these people make lots of really nice looking ones. So many options before you even get to the artwork...
