Dear all,
no FAWM without a Morph Challenge 😀

The morph game is a type of songwriting chain for preferably half a dozen or so writers.

The first songwriter offers a seed song, which can be any of their songs written and posted in FAWM. The second songwriter in the line listens to the seed song, changes approximately 50 percent of the song (=morphs the song) and posts the resulting song 2. The third songwriter listens ONLY to song 2, changes 50% of song 2 and so on.

If you’re participating: DON’T listen to any songs in the Morph Chain before it’s your turn!! After you’ve posted your song, of course listening and commenting to the complete chain is highly appreciated 😀

50 percent is somewhat arbitrary. Simply explained it could be writing a whole new set of lyrics to the music. It also could be using the same lyrics and completely changing the music. In most times, some of the words and some of the music is changed. It is helpful for the next in the chain to also include some musical information (key, tempo, time signature, chords, etc.) aside from the lyrics to the following songwriter either in the comment to the song or by a soundboard message. Also optional to include the preceding songwriter as a collaborator. Ideally the seed songwriter returns later in the chain or participates in another chain.

FAWM is just 28 days so the chain needs to move quickly. In case you’re next in line and too busy to morph, I can adjust your the position in the chain. Just drop me a note on my soundboard or this post.

Usually it's just the song, master mix so to say. You might ask for more though 😀

Be aware that the song might be anything from just vocals and guitar to a complete production 😉

I like to morph, please! I can do whatever, seed song plus later is good. Strangely I think I've come both before and after Helen before but it was years ago so put me in wherever.

I also recommend a specific tag such as #morph1, #morph2, etc. to indicate which chain. Thanks!

Hi @apolez3 are you able to record vocals or are you doing lyrics only? As I said, participants are expected to post a recording of the morphed song... If you can't, we could do a collab, you rewrite the lyrics and I put it to music and make a recording. Be warned however, I'm just a hobby musician and not even a good one 😉
