Are these songs that came out in 2019? Hmmm, that's hard. I only have a slight idea of when things came out.

I checked and I think these came out in 2019:

Adios - Everglow
Birthday - SOMI
Don't Know What To Do - BlackPink
Kill This Love - BlackPink
FANCY - TWICE (Spotify says I like this song the most, but I don't)
I'm So Hot - MOMOLAND
Senorita - (G)I-DLE

My youngest is embarassed when I listen to my music...

Just bought a cello partly because I want one in the house so when my cello-playing friend flies in we'll be able to resume our duet practice. Partly because I also want to learn to play. I'm a complete newbie at bowed instruments so this could get interesting. EDIT: 1/19/20 This was a post in a long series from FAWM 2019 where the topic was what type of new (or new-to-you) gear will you use this FAWM. The prior posts from much earlier in 2019 were taken off in the 2020 site rest.

Agreed, these are fantastic! A couple of my 2019 FAWM songs started with prompts out of this deck!

Looking over old notes, old titles. Looked at uncompleted ideas from FAWM 2019. Ruminating. Priming the pump.

    Right now, Edith Hamilton's Mythology.

Probably my best reads of 2019 were the "Broken Earth" trilogy starting with "The Fifth Season" by N.K. Jemison

Hey all. I'm hoping to recruit some new FAWMers from the open mics I frequent. I met at least 1 current FAWMer at the 2019 New England Songwriting Retreat.

    @guatecoop There's a couple of 2010s on my list; I went with 2010-2019.

Penny Sparkle is definitely the one that connected with me, the next one Barragan(?), while it's still good, lost something compared to PS. I'm not especially familiar with 23 - will have to spend some time with it.

The movies I liked most in last year were both horror movies directed by Ari Aster: Hereditary (2018) and Midsommar (2019). I can't really say why I liked them so much.

    Hi folks:
Before 2019 stuff disappears I'd like to download it (basically the song lyrics and comments on each song); I vaguely recall that there was some way to do this all at once, without having to copy-paste everything individually -- any guidance?

@donna I slogged my way through Ken Folletts The Pillars of the Earth November-December 2019 and I estimate 30-40% of that book could have been stricken without any loss of story, character development, etc. I wont ever read anything by him again. Too much wasted time.

  • @torniojaws 15 hours

2019 was a fairly silent year for me, but the few albums that came out were well above par

1. Front Line Assembly - Wake Up the Coma
2. Grendel - Ascending the Abyss
3. Rammstein - S/T
4. Heilung - Futha
5. Die Klute - Planet Fear

  • @ampersandman 1 week

I like to do that every year.
2017: Songs about religion
2018: More electronic and beats
2019: Rough 90s indie rock
Though this year I have no specific style in mind, I challenged myself to write at least some German lyrics (as I already discussed elsewhere).

  • @ampersandman 2 weeks

@bootlegger I admire your conceptual work, and I remember your 2019 output to have blown me away. Thrilled to see what you are up to ...

For myself, I only have to vague idea to force myself to (also) write songs in German which has never worked for me so far. I liked last year's approach of pursuing a 90s indie Lo-fi style, I might or might not continue in that vein.

I read a lot - mainly contemporary fiction although Im currently reading A Parisian Affair and Other Stories by Guy de Maupassant.

These were my favourites from 2019; all cracking good reads...

Love is Blind - William Boyd
Now We Are Entirely Free Andrew Miller
Once Upon a River Diane Setterfield

@downburst and @barbara, it wouldn't have bothered me at all if no one had expressed interest in participating in a kickoff SuperSkirmish. That's a bit different than saying that no one else should be able to participate in one, either. But, as I've mentioned, I wasn't able to be here last year, so I missed whatever kerfuffle the 2019 SuperSkirmishes caused. And, in any event, people feel how they feel.

Let's let this go.
