2020 will be my 6th FAWM.

I've used various names over the years, including this one, and this year I'm feeling whispermouse-y.

Last year I completed 14 rock songs, each with drums, bass, guitar solos, etc. This year, I'm setting myself a completely different challenge:
- 14 songs
- all acoustic
- NO GUITAR (this will be hard)
- centered around New England folklore

I have a bunch of wonderful instruments, but the guitar was my first love, and it's the one I always reach for when writing. This year, I'd like to stretch a bit and attempt to write 14 songs without using the guitar. I'm sure it'll sneak in there, but I'm going to try.

I'd also like to try to keep my lyrical themes centered around the rich folklore and general mood of my native New England.

Congrats on hitting 14,no, 15! songs

Nevermind, I just tried singing the chorus near my phone, while not recording. I guess Siri doesn't like my singing voice!

  • @man Feb 23

I think it helped that I was recording into my phone. Siri might have perked up if I'd been recording on the computer

That's the plan! We get a little closer one FAWM at a time.

I've learned that you're supposed to poke a little hole in the dumpling, and let the soup spill out into your spoon, then sip the soup, then eat the dumpling! I...still just eat the whole thing at once and risk burning my mouth anyway lol

Well if you want a challenge then limiting yourself from your most comfortable instrument could produce some interesting results. Good luck

  • @bootlegger Jan 2020

Thanks for the watch! Good luck this year! Looking forward to hearing what you come up with.
