I am currently recording everything on a TASCAM DP-008EX and then importing it into Reaper.
All of my acoustic songs are done on my Tanglewood acoustic guitar though occasionally I will use my Yamaha Guitalele. For my softer, dreamier electric stuff I use my Tangelwood hollow body guitar. For the the more aggressive electric I will use my Fender Squire Strat. I have ukulele as well as a stylaphone which is used very sparingly.
I play some cajon so that appears from time to time as does the shaker and tambourine.
I picked up a small midi keyboard and have been learning to program samples to be able to experiment more and round out my sound.

I have had a few emails to FAWMers go to their spam folder?
Just checking in with you.???
hope you had a nice Easter
Wow..loving this thx.
I know you write your own compositions. But I wrote this song with you in mind.
My email is in bio..drop me s line.
Question: Are you going the 50/90 this year?
I was listen to your music and we agreed to do a collab next FAWM.
But have this song idea in my head that won't go away..you know what i mean! And you voice and style just fits the bill for the vocals.
If are interested i can track in the music and i have some lyrics and you can edit and change to suit yourself.
If your too busy I can wait until nest FAWM
gm7 - Garry
Better late than never - I've been a little absorbed in regular life since FAWM and haven't been checking in. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on Why did it have to be this way. It's a hard song, but I'm grateful for FAWM for getting me in the right mindset for writing it.
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed Up To You. 😀
Thanks for listening! I have always driven older vehicles. Ha. Yes... Reminds of the saying: "A true musician is someone who puts $5000 worth of gear into $500 vehicle, drives 100 miles to play a $50 gig."
Thanks for the comment on my Untitled #2! The synth is actually my Les Paul. I turned the volume knob down, played a few harmonics, turned up the volume as I triggered my loop pedal. It took a few times to get right but that's where the pulse sound came from.
I'm still making rounds of comments but I'm digging your songs big time as I did this past summer. Cheers!
Thanks a lot for stopping by and commenting. This means a lot to me!
Sweet . Looking forward to it.😊
Thanks for your comments on Losing My Head. If you like to read, I really really really recommend at least the first two books in the Wolf Hall series. They're amazingly good and the history is so interesting.
Well... thx for the very nice comments on my(collab) songs. I love
FAWM it does expose you to so many different genres.
Enjoyed your catalogue and congrats on getting 23 songs...awesome!
Love your voice ..maybe we could collab next FAWM I don't sing,
and the last time i did my kids thought the cat was stuck in my shed..embarrassing!
I listened to 6 ..couldn't help myself.
Best of luck
Thanks for the love on the kazoo solo! It's my second-favorite "instrument' to play lol.
Thank you so much on your comment on Gravity Shifted! It's one of the songs I feel most awkward about, and it's been wonderful to read you enjoyed it!
Of course you can mail and ask for a feedback 😀. I'm looking forward to the results! If I wasn't maxed out already I would have picked up that song to mix. Hope we can work together next year.
You're welcome! Glad you liked the comparison 😀
I'm still catching up on sending thank you notes for your having stopped by my song "When it Snows". I am so touched by the support and comments this song has gotten. I played this at a zoom open mic even though it's not quite polished and it was well received. I will be back in touch if I get the demo up in case anyone is around to listen. Your time and support mean so much to me and I really appreciate your having taken time for me, again, wacha!
Thanks as always for the listens and comments! Still quite a few of yours I've yet to get to, but doing nothing else I'll try to get around to it before the site closes up shop.
Hi Catherine...That was a fun tit4tat. I enjoyed listening to your songs and appreciate very much the comments you made on mine. Thanks for partaking...
Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you enjoyed my pop rock songs. If you've read the liner notes, "Don't tell me if it hurts" has been a special one for me. I am looking forward to the stems of @nateger to produce this song in the manner it deserves to be.
I will not finish any of these songs in full master until easter. There's lot of recording going on and I don't want people to hurry since they are working on their own albums aswell. I will upload the results on my SoundCloud as soon as they are ready. So this could be somewhere 2021, I hope 😁 I am so sad that most of the FAWM community will not see the results 😞
Still I don't know how to proceed with FAWM. I enjoyed the songwriting part but beeing to dependend on stems makes it impossible to finish any song in that deadline in full production or at least full recording. But I am very grateful for all these people, comments and ideas. That really got me in a creative flow, I was lacking for years. I hope I can make it next year again!
"Stagnate" has been of my favourites of the last weeks. Thank you for making this one happen and giving it free for download. This means a lot to me.
Thanks for listening look forward to checking out some more of your tunes!
Do you have something you can play that was posted in the first week?
Thanks for listening and commenting on my song "Something Dark", I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for your great enthusiastic comments. Time is indeed precious and I'm thrilled to know that you devoted nearly an hour of your life to my music today. That you were compelled to hear them all in one sitting is the greatest compliment, really you don't know what that means to me... 😀
Thank you so much for joining #tit4tat. I know you're in for more listening enjoyment there. Some awesome stuff to discover in the collected group.
I enjoyed your work too, very much, and your vocals and drive. I've thought a little since about what I heard from you and if you want please send me an quick email (hi) and I'll send you 1 quick email back with 2 quick observations/critiques (that don't need to be public) that I sincerly think and hope might help you some in the future. my email is on my profile bio, you can't miss it.
Thanks again for many big smiles. 😀
Thank you for stopping by to comment on my song "Miracles". I've tried hard to keep things positive this year. 2020 is long gone now and better days lie ahead if we can bring them.
Thank you for stopping by to comment on my song "Asking For A Friend". It was a fun skirmish for sure. Your thoughts are all important to me and as I go back over my songs to develop them, I will keep all comments handy. I really appreciate your time and support. This one got a lot of feedback, so I may have to get it going soon!
Thank you SO much for your great comments on "If I Could Live at the Zoo". I plan on having some fun with this song and will be taking all comments to heart as I go back and work on it. Your time and support are truly appreciated, wacha!
Sure! Great. Thanks for your extra kind words on my 6th. I'll check out 6 more of yours between now and tomorrow night. Hope you don't mind me getting ahead in good faith. Please feel free to take your time on the reciprication, but I find it more interesting to immerse myself in someone's music, and after your "Mildred Is Free" I think I'm in for some musical treats! Let me begin... 24 songs! dang, ok. I'll use my lucky numbers to choose.... 😀
Thanks for checking out A Lovin' Fever. Snag it for the spring if you want, Catherine. I'm sorry we didn't get a collab in this time around! Looks like you were super productive and I'll be sure to come back and listen to more of your songs. Take care!
Good luck with your plans and get well soon! You can be proud of winning this year's FAWM!
Thank you for your comment on Drunk Bunnies! I'm going to enjoy MALM now and I simply have to check out a song called When Things Start to Explode...
Thanks for your comment on "Perfect". Feel free to tell ne if you have some idea for this song. I think I just burned out!
By the way: Did my mixing comments on "Stagnate" help? I really love that song!
Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you feel much better, soon. xxoo
So sorry you are not well. Hope recovery is just around the corner.
No pressure, just curious, anything going on Late Love?
Thank you for listening to "Sail". It was a fun one to work on and one of the rare times a happy song comes out of my songwriting!
No worries. Take care!
did ya get those drums I emailed you?
i love that the synth sounded 'dreamy' to you...i'm not formally trained on keyboard so I kind of go with the flow...
Well, I won't mix my songs during FAWM 😁 I need more time and patience with this since there will be PLENTY of recordings. I gonna be maxed out til July haha 😁 I use this opportunity to get to know new people and songs, find collaborators and well, finishing the stuff afterwards. Hopefully, some of the FAWM folks come around my profiles or websites to listen to the result.
I'll drop you a second comment focussing on mixing. Let's see where my tarot card went.. .
Thanks for your comment on "All Hallow's Eve"! I tried to make the melody as catchy as I could 😀
I am so happy you enjoyed the country song and thanks heaps for recommending . It was sorta he the way it fell out of me as I was thinking of Natalie , as I never writes a song like that before musically and possibly may not ever again . It was just a meant to be collab I guess 👍x
Never fails I always miss something somewhere.
I have an excuse my weekend was reversed (usually have my daughter Sat. , this week changed to Fri. last minute) but then again you know what they say about excuses. Thanks corrected.
Thank you for your listen and your kind comment – very much appreciated.
i have three lined up waiting for the disappearance of skirmish madness! all deep dark moody
Thanks very much for your comments on Berserk (1967 Movie) . Much appreciated.
send me the track and I'll work on em this weekend.
I appreciate your comment on invisible. Diggin the stuff you got here!
Thank you for the kind comment on 'Ready, Steady, Go' 😀
Thanks for your lovely comments on my song.. which I keep rereading!!!!
Thanks for your comments on Ready Set Let's Go.
Looking forward to your work on Late Love
Glad you liked my Collab with Arthur (The Night that Never Ends) .
Yes, the Low G Tenor Ukulele is a great one to use for finger picking.
Hey Catherine! Thanks for your comment on "Half finished" 😀 We've been setting timers for ourselves to write to for a while now so we're getting used to the pressure lol, this month is the first time we've challenged ourselves to record within the hour though! It's definitely intense! 😁
Thank you so much for the appreciation and kind comments on 'Don't Put It Off' 😀
But it's great too! We need variety, don't you think?
thank you for your comments on "The Stars" !!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I'm quite happy with how that turned out. I tend to spend more time on things when I'm not the only one involved as I usually can't stand to listen to all the things I wish I'd of done differently. You've been busy too! I have some listening to catch up on.
Congratulations on going well past 14 songs, already! Awesome! You are so wonderfully productive.
I definitely don't craft subs either. I'm far too lazy for that. 😝 That's for your thoughts and heart comment on my song.
Hi, email received thanks. I’ll have a noodle with some music and get back to you. Cheers, J
Late Love is yours. Look forward to your work on this. You always do such a nice job.
Yeah I doubt I'd touch the stems much but you never know. I might get really odd withit drop some drums in/out maybe add some more so sure! I was just thinking a what's in fawm stays in fawm type of thing, I've just been itching to actually jam with people, so virtual will have to do 😁 and that progression had me reaching for a guitar while I was listening
You might like Late Love
Thank you for the comment you had left on 'This must be it'
Thank you for the kind words about my song "No Hurry". I appreciate them.
Hey, that is really cool. If you wanna chuck me some lyrics and any sort of instructions etc. I'll get going. Looking forward to collaborating with you.
Thanks for sending appreciation to the Latina House track! So fun!
Thanks! and I hate playing barre chords too. I usually just tune to open E and single finger them or use a slide if I feel like I must use them for some reason or another 😁. That's usually only when playing with others though.
Thank you for your kind comment on Breath - and for your super fun movie challenge! It's been a pleasure!
Thanks for the comment.. to me verse 3 the most serious but a far fetched hopeful possibility. xoxo here's to dreaming. xoox
Thanks for the listen and kind comments on "Non-Intervention", I appreciate the encouragement!
Thank you for your nice comments on “Underground.” I was in a mood - lol!
Thanks so much for your kind comment on “Skibbereen”!
Hi! Yes, that would be great for you to work on In the Light of Day! I look forward to it!
Yes! I think the Metal Zone sounds great too. It has limited application (only extreme metal), but it does its thing really well. Trouble is that it's a bit hard to handle sometimes.
Glad you enjoyed it. 😀
Thank you for your kind feedback on “3 AM Fears.” I think you’re right about the ukelele. I really want this song to feel like someone lying in bed, singing to themselves in an exhausted daze. I’ve definitely pulled out my ukelele at 3 AM for that purpose, whereas my guitar is just a bit too large and loud for that. Thank you again!
I’m so glad you kept “but she’s glad he’s dead” in “Mildred is Free.” Yes, it’s dramatic, but it’s a song that can use that punch of drama!
The seagulls are a constant, I think I’m immune to them now. It’s only when I record I hear them. They did add a certain charm to this recording. Perfect timing.
Thanks for nice comments!
Chronic illness solidarity! Thank you for your feedback on “Unfortunately Embodied.” I’m glad I’ve given voice to something of our common experiences.
I think I’m onto something with the drums, even if I don’t think I quite stuck the landing. Hopefully, with some refining and some old-school Fall Out Boy style electric guitar, the final product will truly be something special!
you may know but away from FAWM i do a lot of electronic music on commission so i cant use it here! it certainly expands the mind! and the skill set
Thanks for the comment on Back To The Beach. Much appreciated.
Thanks very much for your lovely comment on “It’s a New Day.”!
