she/her they/their

2016 - 12 songs
2017 - 14 songs, including 1 collaboration
2018 - 19 songs, including 8 collaborations (though there may be 1 more on the way)
2019 - 25 songs, including 5 collaborations

I am going to try to put myself out there for some more collaborations and hopefully after February I will refine the songs some more and get a FAWM album done.

I am currently recording everything on a TASCAM DP-008EX and then importing it into Reaper.

All of my acoustic songs are done on my Tanglewood acoustic guitar though occasionally I will use my Yamaha Guitalele. For my softer, dreamier electric stuff I use my Tangelwood hollow body guitar. For the the more aggressive electric I will use my Fender Squire Strat.

I play some cajon so that appears from tiem to time as does the shaker and tambourine.

I did get a new ukulele which may or may not make it onto a recording.

Thanks for your comments again. I’ve been struggling to come up with a chorus this year, which has resulted in chords that start a new song. Still struggling.

  • @cindyrella  Mar 4

That's an awesome story! Thanks for sharing it.

  • @kraftec Mar 1

Thanks for the offer for the vocals! I'm personally fine with the take you've given me but if you're not happy with it you can send me another one πŸ˜€

  • @tiller2  Feb 26

Thanks, I’m planning to try Reaper for next FAWM.

  • @tiller2  Feb 25

hey, what drum machine did you use for the cymbal in our collab? I'm trying to get hip to this stuff

  • @deena  Feb 25

    Wow!!! Your output is inspirational!

  • @tiller2  Feb 23

Great job, Catherine, on Black Ice. Everything fit together well. Thank you! Your vox conveys the concern of watching a friend veer out of control.

  • @crisp1  Feb 22

Something Doesn't Add Up is all yours if you want it!

  • @srcoops Feb 17

I would be pleased to have you have a go at Congressman.

  • @mikeb Feb 17

Thanks for the listen and comment on 'Where the Children Play' "Dark " is definitely what I was going for!

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 17

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Catherine. Wow. Your work on lies was spectacular. I’m sorry you struggles with it but and I am so grateful for what you created. You capture the power and peril of dishonesty between people with a gut wrenching honest and heartfelt feel. Absolutely gorgeous!

  • @tiller2  Feb 14

hey, my email is a bit wonky, and in case you didn't get my message, I'm happy that you like the Black Ice lyrics. Looking forward to what you come up with, suggesting only a hard-driving rhythm (obvious) and some icy sounds at the slick spots (cymbals, fx, dunno). If you need electric guitar, I can provide. Open to word changes, too. Drive on! 😁

  • @kraftec Feb 14

Thank you for sending me the vocal tracks for The Other Side, I dont seem to be able to download them though. Maybe downloads are not enabled for those tracks?

  • @tiller2  Feb 14

Hi, I emailed you a lyric for "Black Ice" I hope you like it πŸ˜€

  • @hmorg Feb 13

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @kraftec Feb 12

Here's the final version of The Journey. Feel free to upload anywhere, although you may have to convert it to mp3. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pxl5tqgehy2...

  • @tiller2  Feb 11

Of course, you could also pitch an idea or a twist on one of mine!

  • @tiller2  Feb 11

I have several lyric ideas I could email you if I have your addy; you could pick one, I’ll write, you can add to, and make the music. A plan? atrotter@aol.com

  • @tiller2  Feb 11

Hey there, we're matched up for the randocollab! Both as "eithers." Any preferences or ideas bubbling up? I'll listen to some of your songs later today and see if they spark an idea... πŸ˜€

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 2019

Thanks for commenting on Hope Beyond Hope. I'm just grateful my sensibility (if not my voice - I'm out of practice) was up to the challenge of complimenting @crisp1's words.

  • @kovbleu  Feb 2019

Wait, wait, wait. I thought you were already on my watchlist. That answers my previous comment. Ha! πŸ˜€ Well, that's fixed now. <3

  • @kovbleu  Feb 2019

Thank you so much for your kind comment on "Here Again." I really appreciate the listen!! Now I'm checking out your songs because I can't figure out how I haven't already yet this year! Kind of crazy week it's been, huh?!

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 2019

Thanks for your comment on "A Culture...". When you say "sad truths and painful things", some days that feels like the true meaning of life.

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

It would be amazing if you could do the vocals for my song πŸ™ As usual make sure to send me the vocal track when you're done πŸ˜€

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Here's a WIP instrumental of The Journey. If you could record the vocals and send me the isolated tracks that would be great πŸ˜€ Downloads are enabled if you want to drag it in to your DAW https://soundcloud.com/user-586707554...

  • @mishykatz  Feb 2019

Thank you for the listen!!! <3

  • @quork  Feb 2019

Thanks for your comment, Catherine. I finally write a song I can imagine people singing along to and it’s about throwing underwear!

  • @beesmusic Feb 2019

Thank you, @wacha for your nice comments about 75x. My goal for FAWM is to write with a lot of truth, however painful. I am glad you liked this tune, very appreciated and a high compliment coming from a great songwriter like yourself!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2019

Yeah, Get Yourself Together is a GREAT song. I want to listen again but am in clinic seeing patients all day. Later!

  • @jamkar  Feb 2019

    Thank you.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2019

Ha! Songs have a funny way of coming to us and sometimes I get on a kick in some area that is so far removed from my real life I wonder where is came from and what it all means.

  • @ahasuerus Feb 2019

Coming from you, praise on any one of my songs is mightily appreciated. Listened to all of your stuff: Great vocals and guitar playing wacha. Awesome.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2019

Thank you so much for your kind comment.

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

I'll get started on the full arrangement and send you something soon!

  • @nateger  Feb 2019

I checked out The Ballad of Marion Crane! I love the raw vibe and the grittiness of the guitar. Great track and thanks for sharing the first line and the song πŸ˜€

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 2019

Er should have been thanks so much of course 😜

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 2019

Hi lovely . Thanks so Kick for the comment and yes you can totally add tambourine or whatever else to it . Please do πŸ‘

  • @ustaknow Feb 2019

Liked your link to "The Ballad Of Marion Crane", nice production. No lyric there, so, just to say - great sound, feel, great to see the evolution.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2019

    Is it okay?!? YES! Please!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2019

Thanks for stopping by Catherine! Much appreciated! Happy FAWMing!

  • @elainedimasi  Feb 2019

    Call Friend

You're in St Mary's Hospital. (Let's not ask why.) Nurse Sharon slips something into your hand when the doctor isn't looking. Be stealthy! Otherwise, the orderly will surely take it away.

It is an old parchment with a spell scratched on it: Call Friend. Call Friend will bring another person to you, right to here, anyone in the world.

  • @jamkar  Feb 2019

I am running late, but just wanted to say hi, and welcome back my friend!

  • @srcoops Jan 2019

I thought you did a great job on my stuff last year and would be very happy to work with you again.

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

My dad is really excited about another year of FAWM, and mentioned (a few times) how much he is hoping people will want to collaborate with his lyrics again. So, if you are interested in any, he'll definitely be up for it. πŸ˜€

  • @kahlo2013  Jan 2019

Happy FAWMing from Pittsburg... I feel like there might be a song about bridges....

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019
