Files are sent... Let me know what you come up with! If you want me to add anything I am happy to play whatever. Collabs post-FAWM even. 😀

  • @scottlake  Feb 26

I may still give the other one a go. Maybe your title will inspire me for lyrics!

  • @scottlake  Feb 26

I got Melodyne 4 Essentials installed and tried using it last night. I will clean up the vocals on our collab and repost

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 21

    Were we doing a collab?

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2019

    Our collab is up!
I've marked it as a "Favorite".
If you want to change that then go ahead.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

It’s kind of strange to have such a personal priority and balance that with 2 kids and a wife. You are correct, but it’s not impossible. There are times when I need to temper my own agenda with the more important responsibilities. It used to be that I could just do whatever I decided to do....

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Oh, and yes a cut capo is the same as a partial. I did do some to the mix, but will do more. I couldn’t figure out the monitoring or the metronome before recording, as I just didn’t have time, but it was fun to get the first attempt out of the way. I also did not have enough time to mix downstairs, as that is right under the bedrooms, so none of it is ideal at the moment....but I’m still having fun with the writing and playing.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Yeah I was consciously being conservative about the mix because I had never mixed on it before. I tend to have too much low-end anyway and I wasn’t sure exactly how the mix would come out on the other side. I’m going to fix it tonight though

  • @cherok40  Feb 2019

Thank you a lot for listening and for your nice comments! Really appreciated!

  • @zecoop  Feb 2019

Thanks for all the listening! I've gone to listen to yours a few times and then remembered that files.fawmers is blocked at work... UGH!
I used the Tapeotronic midi this time. I do have the Mel9, but now that I suddenly have midi, I'm like a kid in a candy store, lol. I like the Mel 9, though, and used it in the David Bowie cover we're doing.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Have you used Harrison Mixbus at all yet? I just recorded a drum track with it and mixed it......wow that’s cool. I wish I would have done it earlier!

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2019

    Definitely.
    Send me a link!

  • @thelowestbitter  Feb 2019

Oh wow, that's really cool. I loved that first album. Anyway I'm sure there's enough room for more than one Sir David Brewster song in the world, the guy invented kaleidoscopes which are cool af, there should be more songs about him!

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

Oh I’m sorry to hear about the bedridden illness! That’s awful. After another listen through C3 I have some ideas and maybe some lyrics for that one as well.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

I’m really glad to hear from you. I’ve been sick too, but just before FAWM and then a return the last 4 days. Yuck. I look forward to listening! Yeah, this fawm has been good and unpredictable but the songs aren’t jumping out, so I’ve been trying to work at starting with whatever I can start with.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2019

Hey there, Just checking in to say hello. How are things for you?

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

That’s it. Just checking if at least the ideas in b and c sections are something you think is worth fleshing out. I didn’t think of anything for the a section yet.

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

Were you able to download the file?

  • @piney  Feb 2019

Thanks! Theremin noise is probably my voice. Been trying to stick to all acoustic instruments so far 😉

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

    You have m@il now

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2019

Yes!!! Please! I would love that!

  • @scottlake  Feb 2019

I came for a listen and NO SONGS YET? Sad emoji

  • @owl  Feb 2019

Welcome back and looking forward to hearing some new tunes from you! Thanks for listening and commenting.

  • @ttg105  Feb 2019

    😀

  • @zecoop  Feb 2019

Thanks a ton for checking out the surf tune... I do feel like I'm getting better on the drums. It's always a good feeling when I can actually play what I'm hearing in my head. Maybe I'm just being more realistic in my head... 😉

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2019

Lyrics done - Do you have an email for me to send the lyrics? then when you have done you can just post as a collab. i wont have tried it for singability so by all mean make any changes you want to im not precious on collabs!

  • @nuj4x Jan 2019

  • @nancyrost  Jan 2019

Noted, will update if it works out!

  • @pfoo  Jan 2019

Hey! Looking forward to your contributions to the 4-track songs - they are always fun. I remember enjoying your music in years past, so looking forward to that as well 😀

  • @max  Jan 2019

  • @cts  Jan 2019

    Howdy!

  • @scottlake  Jan 2019

    The next four Elbow faves:
    Real Life (Angel) https://youtu.be/ZAQeq0XIu6g

    Charge https://youtu.be/nghmOMdL4fM

    My Sad Captains https://youtu.be/9lAVeeuwRiI

    The Bones of You https://youtu.be/-r3Bs_KkP94

I enjoy the fact that they don’t stick to any one formula and especially that the lead singer is a baritone!

  • @nancyrost  Jan 2019

I'm gathering mailing addresses for the 4-track challenge. Please email me yours (click through my profile) and I'll get you on the list. Thanks!

  • @scottlake  Jan 2019

I will compile a list of my top 5 fave elbow songs and post it here. At the top of the list is Magnificent but that probably requires an orchestra. https://youtu.be/XQl5KYiiFDI

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2019

Oh yes, I’m all over a collab with you. I’m not planning on doing as many this year, as last year I felt like I overextended myself. But I would love to do one with you. I have a new house to get used to recording in, so no guarantees on the quality but I bet it will be better, really. So good to be chatting with you again!

  • @scottlake  Jan 2019

I’m thinking perhaps something Elbow-ish. Are you a fan of theirs?

  • @scottlake  Jan 2019

    Maybe another collab this year?

  • @sph  Jan 2019

A pedal you only can get when attending a workshop in norway - now that sounds cool (and the pedal also). Thanks for the link. Someting like a Red Panda Particle?

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

    Shhhhhhhhhhh..... 😉

  • @vomvorton  Jan 2019

Hey! I definitely will... FAWM always finds a way! Looking forward to some more transmissions from your well-stocked studio!

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

You are correct - starting or ending a tape would work, and we did in fact go to Norway last year, I believe. And we had a tape that went Japan-UK-USA, and that was fun. I'd love to get you in this year! 😀

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

Can't wait to hear your awesome music again... 😀

  • @mosley  Jan 2019

Hey man 😀 Looking forward to your tunes!

  • @fuzzy  Jan 2019

I'm really looking forward o hearing what you come up with this FAWM!!
Perhaps we could do another collab; I really enjoy those!
