Aw, thanks for those comments Melissa! The exploding car thing really cracked me up. Can't wait to hear what else you do via Soundcloud and next year's FAWM... you are doing next year, right? Right?!
I recommend everybody have a shovel or a washboard or something fun and noisy with strings and pickups! We can start an orchestra. π and nope...never did, but I do know a guy who knows a guy etc.... π€£ Hadn't heard of The Books, but will check them out, just a brief listen and sounded very intriguing.
Congrats on crossing the Finish Line!
To upload a picture you have to host it somewhere, Imgur/etc, or here if you have the file hosting upgrade. Then just add the link wherever you want it, but make sure the link ends in the .jpg or whatever file the pic is.
π€£ Was about to come congratulate you on 14! Well congrats on 13! You got this! π
Thanks to everyone who has commented on my last couple of songs--I'm in a bit of a crunch to finish my 14 and look forward to responding to your comments and catching up on listening after tomorrow. Cheers!
Thanks for saying nice things about my shanty. It's surprising how few people did the #seashantychallenge. I listened to them all, there were only like 17. Yarrr.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on Donβt Look Down and Treat the Symptoms, glad to be back here for another listen! <3
Howdy and thanks for listening to my latest song. Instrumentation-wise, Garageband drums and lots of mellow electric/acoustic guitar, (Taylor T5) but then I faked some accordion and honky tonk piano with a cheap Yamaha keyboard, just shoving my vocal mic over the speaker in my apt. I'm not really a keyboard player but I can dream. I should probably try midi some day, maybe next year. Never have.
And also, welcome to fawm, you're right on track, rock on!
So glad you were amused by "Wear a Mask (The CoVIDiot Song). It was a fun filler to work through the ongoing pandemic frustrations. Thank you for your socially-distant mask wearing! ππ·π
No worries, I've really enjoyed all your stuff so far! and behind? you're more than on pace! I'm in the group that usually overachieves these things, but I also have no qualms with pushing record and posting any old meandering thoughts and or noodles π
Thank you for your comments on Don't you see me singing!
I consider this a 1 verse song (AAAA...) so I had to change little things on the endings of the lines or ending of the paragraph or even the piano base to have a sense of variety π
Hello! Happy FAWM2021!
Yes it is! I had been drooling over that pedal for a little bit, I think it was a 2018? NAMM release. Got it as a try before I buy, was basically just going to rent it π. I think I'll be keeping it though.
Thanks! I've got a couple "secret" ingredients π
my "lead guitar"
my "bass" and rhythm
and the spicy sauce

that pedal is pretty new, I'm still figuring it all out.
Thank you for the comment - 'super catchy' is pretty much the best thing you can hear as a songwriter, right? π
Thanks for your comment! No Pressure, but can't wait to hear more of yours as well π
No problem! It's something that's not intuitive at all. Took me a few years before I realized it and still do it from time to time π
Welcome! Elliot Smith is one of my favorites as well!
and fawm is a bit tricky to navigate, if replying to someone the @theirnamehere function only works in the forums, otherwise you have to go to their Soundboard or they won't be notified π
happy fawming!
@tseaver thanks so much, I'm excited!
Welcome, and happy FAWMing!
