My fifth FAWM, using a different pseudonym this time.
I am not actually a cartographer. I know there are a few artists out there with names like "Lost Cartographer" and "The Lost Cartographers" - I'm not them. This name came up during a D&D session and was too good to pass up!
Most of my previous FAWM music has been in the singer-songwriter or Americana style. Most of my non-FAWM musical output has also been in that vein, although I spent years playing in rock bands.
I'd love to stretch a bit this FAWM, so I'm aiming for 14 all-electric heavy rock songs. This presents some challenges, since it's a lot easier to record a demo of #guy-with-guitar than a full rock band - hopefully I can find the time!
2019 FAWM goals:
1. 14 songs (of course!)
2. #fullband demos for all songs (drums will be Logic Drummer or loops, the rest will all be played live)
3. No acoustic guitar
Gear this year:
Mac Mini (Logic Pro X, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 interface, Presonus Sceptre monitors)
Ibanez S540 custom shop
Fender Lite Ash Telecaster
Shure SM58 (as part of the #SM57 challenge)
I'll be leaving the banjos, dobros, harmonicas, acoustic guitars, mandolins, condenser mics and all the rest in their cases this February.
I'm always open to any and all critique.

Thank you so much for the comment and the recommendation!
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks! Was a close one.
Well you seem like you’re getting along just fine! I really like what you’ve added to the community here, as you have a lot to contribute. Thanks!
The gold top
Thanks for your kind comments on my skirmish song, Giving Up the Ghost!
\m/ Thanks dude
You really are most kind! Thank you. 😀
Thanks for the great comment on my Flying Saucers!
See You In The Shadows…
About the acoustic question I gave you, cool man, gonna check out now how your'e doing.
Thanks for checking out my surf tune! I'd love to say it was responsible for the warm up we are now having... 😉
(Who were you before this new moniker?)
nah...it's a sampled dulcitone
Thank you for the listen and the kind words. Glad you liked it. 😀
Finding a small, rusted mirror lying on the shore, you can sense immense power within it. If you want, you may gaze into the mirror.
If you do so, you are *blessed*
And you begin *hearing voices*
I'm forever intrigued by you! I was/is in a band called Early Cartographers.. Came for the name, stayed for the plan - I tried to do all-full-band FAWMs previously and it's great but no picnic. Keep plugging away!
Hello fellow Fawmer, I misunderstood the description I read of Nashville tuning. Thank you for the heads up, I would indeed have been perplexed trying to get two octaves above high E and B.
I look forward to hearing your work in the coming month..
Hello and welcome to FAWM. I admit that sometimes I put an electric guitar effect on my acoustic-electric guitar.
Hi! I read your comment on "full band production this year". I also would consider this challenge unless I was skirmishing. But I think it's nice to do an acoustic simple version too, there's magic.
Anyway, I wanted to ask you something, Why don't you use your acoustic guitar this year? Wouldn't you miss it in the mix?
Nah, just gotta make it to the liquor store before Feb 1
Hi there! I'll have to come up with some tasty skirmish titles for us this FAWM
I can't wait to hear what you come up with... I think it is so much fun getting them all fancy and full. Since I don't do lyrics or vocals often, I make up for it in layers. Have fun!
Love seeing the full band goals on here! Good luck. I'll be watching!
I love your goal! I always am hoping for a few straight up rockers during FAWM. Any reason for you? I tend to write all sorts of styles, but often write loud rock in a jagged style.
No acoustic guitar sounds like a challenging year. Best of luck!!
Welcome to you! We are glad that you have joined us.
Happy Fawming! I liked your username (I'm a hobby cartographer myself) so I had to see. Digging your goals. I also do a lot of full-band demos with Logic as my drummer. Looking forward to hearing some stuff!
