Hi, I'm Gabrielle! What I write is closest to filk, otherwise known as fantasy, sci-fi, and convention music. I was alerted to this site by other filkers in 2014, and it sounded like fun. Year 5 it is! Library Science and Art History Master's graduate here, with several fantasy novels in the works. If you want to get in touch with me 'cause something looks nifty, or you have a question unrelated to my work, feel free to send me a message. I like meeting new people. Good luck everyone!
Thanks for your kind words on "Knitted Socks"!
Hi Gabrielle, you are up in Auntie-Sin! Have fun synthesizing 😀
Thanks for checking out Something Doesn't Add Up. I'm pretty drained from writing, writing, writing so I'm starting to feel unsure about the work. Your comments bucked me up!
Thank you so much for your kind comments on Red-Winged Blackbird and What Does It Mean! Really appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for your nice comment on Golden Hour. I finally completed the music on that one. It's so much fun to play, although I need to change keys since the intro is way too low for me to sing properly.
Music is now posted for Touch Not the Cat and other songs! 😀
VICTORY OVER THE TROLLS!!! Music is now uploaded on all but 6 of my songs -- working on those 😀 Thanks for your kind suggestions.
Thank you for you kind comments on "Broken." I had no idea how it was going to end, until the last 2 lines wrote themselves and I saw what it became, and the parts of it that are true affected me more strongly than I thought they would. I'm polishing it and will be performing it at LTUE later this week. (see LTUE.org)
Thanks for listening and commenting on my song "You Are Fragile", I really appreciate it!!
Webcam? I'm still using a flip phone! 😀 Another friend pointed out his i-Phone records in MP3. *sigh* Got no printer, no wifi, still own LPs and hifi! LOL
Thanks for your comments on Touch Not the Cat! Once the snow melts, the plan is to get a hard copy printed so I can turn off the computer while I play it into my i-pod, then find a Starbucks wifi to send the MP4 by e-mail, then put it thru the freeware site that turns it into an MP3 so I can upload it *whew* Isn't tech fun???
Thanks so much for your comments on my lyrics. It means a lot!
Hiii! Yes, I'm new to FAWM! <3
Hey Gabrielle, thank you so much for your wonderful comment, it filled my heart with joy. I went to your SoundCloud and have to say, you have such an amazing voice, I think I am in love 😁 <3
hello, fellow queer fawmer! thanks for sharing in the forums and remember: we queer siblings got your back! have a great FAWM!
Thank you for the comments - I agree I could develop it a lot more. For some reason I just couldn't get a chorus out haha! Looking forward to hearing your songs
Thanks for your comments. I was thinking of my Dad with being Bald. I love your idea about playing my uke badly- I can sure do that!
You go, girl!
As a fan of symphonic metal bands (Eluveitie is my jam haha) I'm excited to see what you come up with! ^^
Hi there, ya for sure anime is a big inspiration for my music. But not in a normal way perhaps! Especially since my favorite stuff in Slice of Life like K-On, Love Live, Hibike Euphonium etc. It was more so in say 2017, but I also want to take more from the J-Pop groups I like and such, so it all mixes in there. I'll look out for what you do also!
Hey, Yeah I love symphonic metal. Most favourite is Kamelot. I might write something with a symphony during FAWN. It's always intimidating, but I love the challenge.
Now I'm gonna stalk your SoundCloud. 😈
Thanks!! Happy FAWMing 😀
Hi thanks for the nice comment! 😀 Best of luck this year.
Thank you! I'm just a little further out, in Marysville. Happy FAWM to you, too!
Hi;I often go off in a fantasy-scifi direction, If Ican coax
Musey back out of retirement; I;ll try to catch your stuff
Goood luck anyway
Good to see you back for another year!
I thought I'd let you know, I call it "folk acapella" now. (If it's particularly lo-fi it might also be crapcapella, but that's just for the particularly lo-fi stuff now.)
