It’s been brought to my attention that the @mentions in my song posts don’t actually do anything to let that person know I’ve said anything to them. So, yes, here we are, towards the end of March, but for my own vanity and sanity, I’m responding to a now 6-week old comment you kindly left for my track Waiting Here (https://fawm.org/songs/117290/):
"Mission accomplished! I hadn't necessarily felt that particular influence, but I have been in the midst of my 10-yearly dive back into the Beatles catalogue, so something must have rubbed off."
Thanks for the listens and song comments!
Glad you liked my "Sailing Away" - and congrats on getting "The Cup" (see next to your name, above, if you haven't yet noticed. 😉
Congratulations on hitting 14!
Thanks for your comment on my song!
Thanks for listening to calm down. The drums were presonus Impact drums played through an akai mpk mini with some reductive eq and compression. I like the old school samples, they’re a lot of fun to tinker with!
Thanks for your nice comment!
Thanks and didn't he do great with my lyrics?
Thank you so much for you comment on "just a moment". For the drums, I use Garageband to write, and it has a really customizable drum machine built into it that I've been playing around with a lot this year. I'm glad it's sounding decent!
thank you so much for stopping by and listening to my songs! 😀
Those big drums came from a Kontakt sample library I have called something like "stomps claps snaps and slaps" 😀
those sounds are the stomps of maybe 20 people in some sort of church or hall. 😀 I also added reverb and a bunch of low eq frequencies at 50 and 100 hz. 😀
If you want a link to where to get it let me know and I'll look for it. 😀 It might have been free, or really cheap. 😀
Thanks for your comments on 'I Miss My Dog'. I'm very surprised of what sometimes comes out when I sit down to write. With FAWM, I give myself the opportunity to delve into ideas I might have otherwise skipped. Although I would think about Nellie on a regular basis, I never thought of writing it down... until now. Again, thanks!
Thanks for your kind words on memories change. I appreciate it
And a fellow CELT!!
Would you do some vocals for me Susan if I can supply you with the music? You have a very interesting voice.
Now or after FAWM
Well not really 49. Some of these are collaboration and songs I added arrangements to. Quite a few though, maybe it's the lockdown?
I have always worked quickly and my production workflow tends to be very efficient.
After the event I will filter out for quality but some of the collabs on here have been absolutely great. A rich pool of talented people.
I will have a listen to your stuff and offer any feedback I can.
Thanks so much for the kind words on Never Enough, Susan.
Thanks for the comment on "Birthday!" Just realized that you're from Cincinnati too and a teacher. I'm in Cincy and a teacher we well, currently part-time because I'm home with my kids mostly. Nice to meet a fellow Cincinnati/musician/teacher. It's a great combo:)
Thank you so much for your comment on John. It's a high compliment to know that someone is moved by my music; extending my deepest sympathies for the loss of your brother.
Ta very much for those kind words about The Clown Song 😀
Thanks for commenting on my Dumpster song!
Thanks for the comment on Presidential Blues.
Thanks for the comment on Coins for the Ferryman.
Thanks for your generous comments!
Thank you Susan for the nice comments on Bend In The Road. Playing an instrument is relatively new in my life, and songwriting has been my hobby during COVID. I have been reliving old photographs and memories.
Thank you Susan. Much appreciated
Thanks for your comment, and for not saying it sounded like Billy Joel, ha ha.
Thank you so kindly!! Much appreciated. _Dan
Thanks very much for your lovely comment on “These Wide Open Spaces”!
Thanks for the kind comment. I’ll be back to listen. 😀
Great! No hurry
Thank you so much for the comment on Battleship Violet. Yeah, it would work as a Soundtrack piece.
See You In The Shadows…
Thx a lot for comments on "Musica Poetica No9". Much appreciated.
Thanks for listening to my twisted song. Glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun doing it...cause when you are crazy you can get away with saying anything, right? 😀
Thank you very much for your lovely comment
That's a good idea!! (regarding samples) - cuts out the complicated process of getting recordings right. I may consider that for the future myself 🤠 allthabest!
Thanks for the heads up, Susan - it should play now, have tested it in Chrome and Edge anyway! Hope you're well j$
Thanks for the good feedback on my song! 😀
Thank you for the comment on Lilah Danielle, much appreciated 😉
OH and I added her picture to the lyrics if you'd like to see her
Thanks for your kind words on 'Everything changes'
