Artist Bio

Influences:   A lot of the guy/girl-with-guitar folks from yesterday and today have had their tunes rolling around in my head, and I’ve covered many over the years. The John Denver/Jim Croce/James Taylor era folks were especially prominent.

- Year 10 -
Last year's FAWM was my first bust. I had been dealing with writers block that lasted a full 18 months before the creative dam burst. I'm back, and finally over my writers block.

I'm not sure how much production I'm able to manage, and the vocals are likely to be inconsistent thanks to some ongoing health struggles. I'll have pen to paper, and I've moved the bare essentials for recording to the bedroom so I won't have any excuses.

It actually looks kind of creepy with mic arms hanging over the bedside, computer screens and web cams, like we're shooting porn rather than occasional zoom open mics. All praises to an understanding wife. An aside. We were watching Clouds tonight on Disney+ (if you haven't seen it you should, but bring kleenex), and the main character gets hit with inspiration to write a song and is frantically scrambling for paper and begging for anyone to find him a pen. My wife turns to me and says oh, I know that look, he's got a song coming.

Anyway, if this is your first time finding my profile, I'm an acoustic americana singer-songwriter. It's a little bit folk, a little bit country, and a little bit pop all mashed together. I've been focusing a lot of my writing efforts on writing songs for the broken, the downtrodden, the hurt, and the lost lately. Something to shine a light to show them they are still wanted and loved, and that people still care.

Feel free to be constructive rather than kind. The quality is going to vary, as will the effort I put into the demos. Typically they range from - crawled out of bed and recorded an idea into my phone while half asleep through carefully recorded productions.
Collaborations are welcome during FAWM under the agreement they will, by default, NOT be considered joint works. All contributions will be individually owned unless other agreements are made in advance. I am open to true co-writes with shared ownership, but this must be established in advance of a joint effort. If you have any questions feel free to email me:

Hey man - glad to see you here and I hope we can do a co-write or two. Sorry to hear your health has been kicked around like a football lately but bless your cotton socks for not letting it get you down this February.
2020 was rough on a lot of folks in a lot of ways, and if you ever need to chat / vent - I'm only a FB message away. Good luck with everything, like you, last year was a bust for me too, so I'm aiming for a song a day.
