Influences: Jason Isbell, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, Bob Dylan, Justin Vernon
I have been writing songs for about 15 years, on and off. Currently I write for my band Stephen Tanner and the Runaways. I also write solo music. My main influences tend to be acoustic singer songwriters often with a sway towards country music. I like writing about my own experiences but want to write more creatively about ideas and situations that are entirely separate from me.
Thanks for your kind comment on "Choir's Back!"
Stephen i had to finish the podcast last night. What i would love is if you would be the featured artist on episode 1 season 2 ( about 4 weeks time) and we can do an interview and have 3 songs! do you have an email or a way for me to keep contact! thx mate. i will send link to the podcast for the last of season 1 on wednesday
Thanks for saying nice things. I have learned from FAWM that it is MUCH easier to improve a song that at least EXISTS, than to create a perfect song that is not actually a song. An imperfect song at least tells you what you do NOT want in the song. Which is, when you are just starting a new song, just as good as knowing what you DO want. I am so glad you have found FAWM a good experience.
Awesome! We haven't written many more 'country' songs but we really enjoyed working on this one 😊
Your lovely words mean a lot to us! You have blown us away with your songs so far! 😊
Most people fly out of the starting blocks and then slow down. You have already written 2 stunning songs in 2 days. If you write nothing for the next 3 weeks, you have won already. And there is always 50/90 that starts after the summer 😉
Tremendous song!! What a brilliant start to the FAWM challenge. I'm looking forward to posting some stuff on here, but I doubt many will come close to that offering. Really catchy tune.
Hey Stephen! - Welcome to FAWM! Marieke said she had roped you into this. there are quite a few of us from the Northants scene involved this year which is fab!
Welcome, and happy FAWMing!
Welcome to FAWM!!!
Welcome to FAWM. Hope your first one will be an inspirational one!
