Artist Bio

Influences:   Hell if I know. Stooges, Ramones, The Clash, Blondie, Prince, L.L. Cool J, Megadeth, Rush, Tangerine Dream and my (un-ironic) go to karaoke song "Opps, I did it again". On a given day I'm likely to look for something new rather than wade into the nostalgia pool.

Michael Bodalski, AKA Spazsquatch, is a forty-something singer and songwriter, born in Detroit, aged in Minneapolis, and currently resides outside of Toronto.

Thanks for the watch. I'll check out this year and see you next year.

  • @nahlej381  Feb 28

O sorry if I fked your whole flow up.

  • @nahlej381  Feb 28

I just signed up for 50/90. Maybe we can find something to work on then! Take care! I really enjoyed your tunes this FAWM.

  • @nadine Feb 26

Thanks for your answer! Get well soon 😀

  • @nadine Feb 23

Have you already decided whether you'll take my chords for "Seeing it Backwards"? Just wanted to make sure if I can use them later or not.

  • @pvk2020  Feb 21

Glad to bring you out the funk and into an inspirational space. I can email you the mp3 if you want it. 😀

  • @zecoop  Feb 18

    😂🤣😂🤣😆🤣🤪
    Well played! Lol

  • @artie Feb 17

Thanks for the comment on "Lightly Severed" and "Space." I dunno how many people are doing hip hop on here, but as far as creative expression goes, it's always felt like another side of myself that gets to come out through that medium.

  • @opossum Feb 17

    Hiya Spazsquatch!

Thanks for listening to my song! Sorry if I left something in your attic!

    Your pal,
    Opossum

P.S. I might know one of relatives. A big feller. Very hairy. Answers to the name Sasquatch? Or maybe Squooshsquatch. I'm not sure.

  • @trolls2 Feb 16

thanks for listening to the Oracle challenge 'red cloak' yes for some reason my characters seem to invoke that concern from the listener. I always like to show the way to the light in the end!!

  • @tuneslayer  Feb 16

Yeah I listen to CBC R1 Vancouver quite a bit. Sometimes I'm like 'Yeah, right on" and sometimes I'm like "lolwut?"

Tag me when you do your version of Murder Hornets. I"m excited to see what you come up with!

  • @tuneslayer  Feb 15

I like that idea. I've occasionally mused whether we here in Washington would be happier if we split off of the US and joined Canada as Baja B.C. . .. . but then my Canadian friends remind me that Canadian politics are messed up too (but probably not nearly as messed up as ours).

Please feel free to take the lyrics to Murder Hornets and run with them. It sounds like what you have in mind (50s garage surf rock) sounds like a lot closer to what I originally heard in my head.

  • @nahlej381  Feb 15

Thank you for pointing me to that song. It was epic and delicious

  • @nahlej381  Feb 15

Thanks for listening and saying exactly the right things about citizen toxie I was having a bit of writers block so I chopped up some Troma and made it dance for me lol

    Thanks again

  • @tuneslayer  Feb 15

I have to say, I like the idea of a 900 km screen door to guard against a threat that actually does exist much better than a 1500 mile wall to guard against a threat that doesn't.

  • @candle  Feb 14

Yeah, I thought that tittle was pretty good 😁 Thanks for the comment!

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @timfatchen  Feb 13

You do realise this correspondence will all appear in the liner notes? (the tag is #metaFAWM)

  • @timfatchen  Feb 13

Okay. So we'll eventually appear as collaborators (evil word) on my modified lyric of your riff modified from my forum post etc... why the musical lilt to my tects? Too many FAWMku's and FAWMericks in my murky past.

  • @pvk2020  Feb 13

Sure I love collaborating. Which song?

  • @nadine Feb 13

How did you know, I was a Whovian?! I like that idea of a time travel concept album but this is not something I write or produce in 1-2 days. Sometimes these ideas come out of a sudden, sometimes it takes months.
What do you want me to do? Compose melody and arrangement for your lyrics? I am definately not a singer, but as I have nearly the same range as Amy Lee, so I have a slight idea about the melodic direction. I am songwriter and producer first, I can play piano on a very basic level. if you want this to sound really neat, you'll need to ask guitarists and vocalists to record these parts afterwards.
I am crazy for producing my FAWM stuff in studio quality afterwards.
What will be your part? Is there a melodic hook that needs to be taken?
You can also write an e-mail with details if it's too much for the comments.

  • @timfatchen  Feb 13

Ah. Haven't met you before. Do you want to do the music to your clever lyric or should I?

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 13

Thanks! Synths with fuzz guitars are my bread and butter.

  • @candle  Feb 12

I posted an updated demo. Hope you like it. I have a WAV file of the guitar for Man Out Of Time if you would like it to do any re-recording or remixing. Let me know. Thanks for asking me to participate in this great project!

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @candle  Feb 11

I am still figuring out something for Part 5. My return to work today sort of took the wind out of my sails. I'll see what I can put together over the next couple of days. I haven't forgotten!

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @princesssavania Feb 10

Thank you for your kind comment on my song ☺️

  • @beat  Feb 10

Hey, ja the MSPD really looks good. I tweaked a lil around last night and it feels good too. But! I’m not sure how it will, if at all, continue... I checked the Patreon page today and like MSPD‘s last update their Patreon has no new content since Okt.19. So?
Still I’m gonna get into it and am keen to finde out more on how it works. There seem to be some great possibility's in video manipulation through sound. And it’s free.

  • @pvk2020  Feb 9

It's always good when someone like to listen to what we create. Right? Thanks bunches

  • @zeekle1998  Feb 9

Hi @spazsquatch - re the random collab - have sent you and email.

  • @felixfelix Feb 9

I'd love to do the music part of a collaboration within the saga. If you have ideas on how the saga will continue, I'm sure it would inspire me at an attempt for the creation of some kind of soundscape to go with it. I can't help you with the female vocals tho.

  • @candle  Feb 9

It's all good. I like the vocal as is, tho. Gonna start working on Part 5 here shortly. I guess I'll see what I come up with…

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @candle  Feb 9

Unfortunately I don't have a stem from The Inventor Awakes. I recorded the final mix live-to-tape. If you like, I could try to re-record the lead lines - tho I do warn you they will probably be slightly different. I'll make sure I record just the lead stem for Man Out Of Time & then do a mix, that way if you'd like to re-visit it, you will have the stem. Let me see what I can do.

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @candle  Feb 9

I would love to. I'll have listen & see what I can come up with.

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @nuerdetjuligen  Feb 7

Oh man, of course! I'm so excited to hear the rest of the concept album. And you've inspired me to start a response song from the perspective of the twins' mom. it must be nuts to be dumped by a time-traveller. 😀

  • @candle  Feb 4

Sure, sounds fun. I can do some backing ambience pads if you'd like to tackle the vocals. Thoughts?

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @candle  Feb 4

I love the idea. I'm adding it to my ever expanding list of "gotta write that for FAWM" 😄

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @fuzzy  Feb 4

    Dude, thanks!!
@nuerdetjuligen is really the appropriate choice for a collaborator!

  • @fuzzy  Feb 4

Hey, I do like your words, but I really didn't have anything to do with them! @nuerdetjuligen is the real inspiration; please make her the collaborator and just tag me in the liner notes.

  • @fuzzy  Feb 3

Thanx for the comment on the time travel/Olsen twins tune!
    Build on it how?
Like, use the idea and make something else?
    Or use this actual piece?

  • @zeekle1998  Feb 2

Hey, thanks for the nice comment.
Re the collab, next week is good for me to start, I’ve signed up to a couple of skirmishes etc. so this week is busy.
If you like I can send you some lyrics? Any particular genre?

  • @waitingforwinry Feb 2

Hey there, just dropping by to say thanks for your comment on "Charlie" 😀

  • @boyatheart Feb 2

Thanks for the comment. I've had quite a bit of practice.
I started it about 10am on the 1st Feb, but I'm in SE Asia, so I was ahead by some time. It took me most of the next day (today) to do the vocals. I mix as I go, which saves a lot of time.

  • @gm7  Jan 29

Great name you got there, too!
    You're "outside of Toronto"?
    I'm up near Peterborough.
    Practically neighbours!

    Welcome, and happy FAWMing!
