Artist Bio

Influences:   I guess I have a sort of Sara Berailles sound, although I listen to a lot of musicians that play in a different style than I do. I think my biggest two influences are Mitski and St. Vincent.

I'm a 17 year old songwriter which means my participation in this is highly dependent on how much homework I'm getting. Hoping to make it to 14! (she/her)

(2/15) To whoever donated to FAWM on my behalf, I am extremely honored. Thank you for supporting this wonderful community, and for thinking enough of me to do so in my name. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and generousity

  • @tamsnumber4  Mar 7

Thank you for commenting on my song "Doll", I appreciate the listen!

  • @adamhope  Mar 1

Heya, thank you for listening to my song and giving feedback. I really appreciate it. 😁

  • @phlecksy Feb 28

PS Congratulations on finishing your album despite the homework. Just listened to a bit, it sounds good too!

  • @phlecksy Feb 28

Hi skylermf, thanks a lot for your comment on my track (it was called 'Fresh photon flow' at the time, but I changed all the titles cos I got bored of them). For the record, there's no theory behind it (or at least if there is I don't know about it), it's just a music app - a new and really good one though - on an iPad, that I was trying out. Anyway, when someone says something nice about your stuff it makes you like it better, I find - so again, thanks! πŸ˜€

  • @dragondreams  Feb 28

    Congratulations on getting your trophy!
And thank you loads for taking the time to listen and comment on my twiddling. It's very much appreciated. πŸ˜€

  • @hornesgiftshop  Feb 28

Thanks for the comment - much appreciated, as people are all getting a bit tired of listening to each other's stuff now.

  • @haim  Feb 28

That's great.. I feel like fawm is kind of a music college, from the best kind. Why go to university and finish 5 years with maybe a single, when here you can write 14 songs per month, and learn from many different artists... Do you agree? And by the way thanks for your support, I'm thinking how I'm gonna finish the last two, but I guess I just need to start, maybe ill find pieces of songs I got recorded on my phone from this month and do something with them.. By the way 2, its cool someone thought of you and donated you rock hands!

  • @electrocelte Feb 28

Thanks for your comments on Criminality, Yeah there are not too many artists here with bagpipes, that’s for sure. I’ve been pretty busy with work and all lately but, trying to crank out as many tunes as I can. It’s always fun! Congrats on your 14 tunes,I will have a listen! Cheers πŸ˜ƒ

  • @haim  Feb 28

Congrats on hitting 14! Thanks for your comment on my songs, appreciate it. How was fawm this year? I still got 2 more songs to finish 14 !

  • @zxcvbnm  Feb 27

Thanks for you comments on A Brief History of Time, I'm a bit short of TIME but I browsed you songs, great to hear the new generation in music. πŸ˜€ Good luck with the debate.

  • @rwc Feb 26

Thanks for your comments on "Change".

  • @ohwell123 Feb 26

Thank you for your comment on "Where Have You Gone My Love?". I greatly appreciate it!

  • @aneil Feb 26

The demo for Wild precious life chorus is up! My album is also out
Have a listen if you have time. Thanks for your input on Fawm

  • @hummingbear Feb 25

Thanks for your comments on Gimme A Straw. The bans started in California and there was quite an uproar from the disability community so perhaps the trend is fading. I appreciate your supportive comments.

  • @metalfoot  Feb 25

Hey-- congrats on 14! You've made some great music this year! Rock on!

  • @meatcoup85  Feb 24

Thanks for the kind words! Loving your tunes!

  • @chrisshepard Feb 24

    Hail Seitan, baby!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 24

You are too kind! πŸ˜€ And I see I have some catching up on your songs to do! Thanks for reading Sodium. I want my voice to come back... being stuck to about an octave and a half sucks when I'm used to having 3+ at my disposal...

  • @splittybooms  Feb 22

On 'Be Alright' - Hey thanks for taking a listen!
I do like to mix happy-ish and sad-ish stuff; also glad it gave off a retro vibe, that's my favorite vibe to incorporate!
OH, and someone else who digs some St. Vincent!!!

  • @franniezest Feb 22

thanks for the feedback on Reassessing my Life!

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 21

  • @dutch1967 Feb 21

Hi! Thanks for stopping by Lullaby 2. Of course it's a blessing I had to do something different. If it weren't for obstacles, the road would put us to sleep. A problem is just an opportunity with a weird haircut.

Plus, it's nice to have her home and make her coffee and lunch. I got to treat myself to a better lunch too! πŸ˜€

  • @timfatchen  Feb 20

Just abot my last gasp as I disappear for nearly a fortnight: thank you for your comment on "I'm a believer". I was interested to see your reaction to the "drop-out" stop-start nature of it.

  • @angelinapowersuit Feb 19

Peaceful! Yes, that's what it is and I didn't even realize it, thank you! I finally wrote a peaceful song πŸ˜€

  • @beesmusic Feb 18

Thanks for your nice comments on Keep You Safe. I appreciate it very much and look forward to listening to more of your music!

  • @heuristicsinc  Feb 18

Re: New Moon, the liner notes were the prompt text for the challenge #ArkhamHorror given to me by @elainedimasi . So there's no other pieces to that story at this time. Check out the forum here:

  • @theodamus Feb 17

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! It's so easy to write sad songs forever - wishing you more luck with happy songs than my ADHD ass had! πŸ˜€

  • @tunecat Feb 2019

Hi thanks for visiting the song - I'm just waiting for the track to upload it wd be great if you wanted to pop back and hear it then!

  • @cherok40  Feb 2019

Thank you for your kind comments on "The Morning Mist". Very much appreciated!

  • @goldbay Feb 2019

  • @wistah  Feb 2019

Thank you so much for listening to Black Mary. I appreciate the feedback. I'm looking forward to listening to your songs too. PS I also love St. Vincent... she's a real guitar hero!

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 2019

Thanks for appreciating My Mitey Demodex. Your compliment was so huge, and completely unexpected for what I thought was a hard-to-listen-to song.

  • @lvgd09  Feb 2019

Hello, I just wanted to say thanks for commenting on my song Nothing To Say. I don't take FAWM serious or I'll get stress. Today was "what on your mind" and my response is nothing to Next time though I'll try to create a story. I liked your Being Female song, it's cool.

  • @timfatchen  Feb 2019

(Thanks for the comment on the Silly Love Song.BTW, which brought me here). Yes, there is a sort of SB sound, perhaps because at present you have a similar voice and there's a similarity in the unusual fits of lyrics to music, not straightforward (nor boring). But don't let comparisons concern you. What I've listend to points ot all sorts of goodies for the future. Do what you can in FAWM, and think about keeping with this community in 5090 too.

  • @aprilm  Feb 2019

Thank you so much for your comments on Blood Wolf Moon! I am so relieved to finally get at least one song recorded! I am so happy you enjoyed it. I'll try to come back for a listen on the weekend πŸ˜€

  • @audrey  Feb 2019

Thank you for your kind comment. I actually was trying to write some awe-inspiring music for TV or movies, and so tried to think of what might inspire awe. My husband said for him it was seeing the photo Earthrise for the first time. I had to agree. That is an awesome photo. Thanks again. I appreciate your comment. πŸ˜€

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 2019

  • @misterd Feb 2019

    Thanks so
Much for listening and commenting on my song β€˜Slip between the cracks β€˜. I appreciate it . Thankyou

  • @wobbiewobbit  Feb 2019

thanks for your amazing (and hilarious) comment on my Bra Off Time song. πŸ˜€

  • @mikeb Feb 2019

Thanks for the comments on my song 'Bridges'!

  • @zecoop  Feb 2019

Also, seriously... 17?! Wow, you have a bright future. πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 2019

First off - thanks for checking out the song I just posted. I really appreciate you taking the time. It was fun to put together, uh, kind of. πŸ˜€
Second, I love your style. Great songs so far and a strong style. You don't sound like her, but you might appreciate PJ Harvey's early stuff. My favorites are her first two Dry and Rid of Me, but she put out the demos for Rid of Me and that's what your stuff (kind of) reminded me of, only in the vocal/guitar aspect, plus really good songs. Check it out, if you have not before:

Looking forward to coming back for more!

  • @dreamscuba  Feb 2019

Thanks for your comments on "Pop My Socks". The song structure and most of the tracks were compiled on the phone with Logic for rearrangement and adding a few more instruments...yes, amazing what you can do with these devices. Thanks again.

  • @aneil Feb 2019

Wild precious life chorus concept demo is up if you want a listen. Thx for your interest

  • @misterd Feb 2019

Thanks so much for listening and the kind words on my songs . I really appreciate it . Thankyou .

  • @colgoo  Feb 2019

You’re only 17?!!!!! Wow! You are so talented! I hope you are submitting a college application to Berklee College of Music or other music programs. You’ve got some serious skills!

  • @paiyatamu  Feb 2019

Thank you for your comment on "Quicksilver Flame." I've always loved the story of the Snow Queen but the part about the Devil's mirror is almost always left out and we only hear the story of Kai and Gerda.

  • @chrisshepard Feb 2019

Thanks for your comment and making me happy! πŸ˜€

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

I think I got the timing, thanks πŸ˜€ I'll upload the song tomorrow and you can let me know then if its wrong.

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Thanks so much for the vocal track. It sounds amazing. Could you send me a short clip of you singing along to the song so i know how it syncs up with the instrumental?

  • @mishykatz  Feb 2019

Thank you for the listen and comments on Maybe!!! Much appreciated πŸ˜‰

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

You could do that, or you might want to add it as a new song for more people to see it. Its up to you.

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Here's Modified, finished. Feel free to upload wherever you want. Again, if you ever want to collab again just let me know πŸ˜€

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

It would be perfect if you could sing for my song πŸ˜€ If you ever want to collab I'm up for it. By the way your song is VERY nearly finished just some final touches and I'll send you it tomorrow πŸ˜€

  • @xfloorpunchx Feb 2019

Merci for your kind comment and i wish you a great FAWM !

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2019

Howdy. Exquisite Corpses are a truly fun, awesome and amazing part of FAWM. I'm addicted to them. Thanks for listening!
    Your friend,

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Great! It should be finished by at least Tuesday evening (or I guess just Tuesday for you) πŸ˜€

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Okay here's a WIP instrumental for you to sing over. If you could send me isolated vocal tracks (with the harmonies recorded separately if possible) that would be great. I also added and extended some sections so sorry if its hard to find each part πŸ˜€

  • @carbonribs1 Feb 2019

That’s cool about the harmonies. I might have to try that.

  • @kraftec Feb 2019

Great! I'll get started and send you something soon to sing over.

  • @xfloorpunchx Feb 2019

Thanks a lot for your kind comment on my first song ! It's really motivating for this month. 😁

  • @deonnek  Feb 2019

Hey @skylermf, love what you're doing! Cheers to a productive FAWM. πŸ˜€

  • @thesheepandlion Feb 2019

Little black dress has a great and catchy melody. It all flows really well together.

  • @berni1954  Feb 2019

Thanks Sky. Loved your comments on my song "On the Threshold of the Void". I'm away this weekend, (NO INTERNET. CAN U IMAGINE?) but I'll definitely come and give your output a listen when I get back. I remember being seventeen.... I hated it.. I was always falling in love with the wrong person and missing those who had a crush on me. Hey, now there's material for a song πŸ˜€

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2019

    Thank youuuuu for listening Skyler!!

  • @lowhum Feb 2019

Thanks for the comments and wish you a musically eventful February!
