Thanks for the comments on Castle in the Sky - I am humbled, what a nice way to end FAWM.

  • @cleanshoes  1 week

I'll send you an email so we can stay in touch! Also, my username on 50/90 is the same, so you shouldn't have trouble finding me. Hope to see you there!

Hi Serene, thanks for your kind words on Sandcastles. Yes, I am a friend of Lisa's! Small world indeed! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • @cleanshoes  5 weeks

I've mostly done collabs over email before, but there are some people who brainstorm over Zoom, too. I think it just depends on what you're trying to do and what works best for you!

  • @cleanshoes  5 weeks

Yes! It runs July-September. The idea is to write 50 songs in 90 days, but most people don't go for that many (I certainly don't!). It tends to be a smaller crowd and feels more relaxed because of the longer time period. I often end up collaborating and experimenting more for that reason, too! Would love to see you there.

  • @coolparadiso  6 weeks

Hi again, could I use what I was made for on my podcast songwriters and original songs when season 2 starts in a few weeks. Thx

  • @cleanshoes  6 weeks

You're welcome! I've always loved reading, language, and storytelling, so there may be a bit of natural aptitude there, but I think most of it comes from practice! I would love to collaborate sometime, so please keep in touch. If you're planning on signing up for 50/90 this summer, I'll be there as well!

  • @davidtaro  6 weeks

Not at all, theyโ€™re brilliant songs! Look forward to hearing what you do next Feb ๐Ÿ‘

  • @cleanshoes  6 weeks

Sending you a belated welcome to FAWM! Thank you so much for listening to my songs--I'm catching up on some listening myself, and I just love your voice and style!

  • @richaaaay  7 weeks

I enjoyed your song. No need for apology regarding the recording. My comment was just trying to provide constructive comment.

Right now I use GarageBand for recording. I am curious to try other platforms but GB works pretty well. Iโ€™m not certain I am the best person to give advice but for most of the recordings youโ€™ve heard I have used two microphones. There is bleed between the two so itโ€™s been mentioned to me here that I may have better results recording guitar and vocals separately. That makes sense to me. I have one large diaphragm mic and that seems pretty good at picking up sound. If I were to use only one mic I suppose that would be the way to go. Placement of the mic would make a big difference. I have heard some recordings here of people using one mic and their recordings sounded fantastic. Anyways, thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve got....

Thanks Serene 123, trying for positive lyrics. Or at least some hope. Little words needs a lot of work, Iโ€™m all over the place on that. Karl.

Downloaded! ๐Ÿ˜€ Once again, thanks so much for these gorgeous songs!

  • @arthurrossi 7 weeks

Thanks so much for the beautiful song that you made for "Be happy that all is as it is", you have a great way with melodies, and I like your vocal delivery very much... If it is not too complicated, may I ask you for the favour to make it downloadable at some point, so I can save it in my private archives and I would still like to show it to some friends of mine... Thank you very, very much!

Hi Serene, I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your songs this year (my first year with FAWM). And I hope to hear more songs next year. Keep at it.

Thanks so much, @serene123 ! The Twelve Bar Blues was a fun one for me.

  • @richaaaay  8 weeks

I think this is a safe space for you. Everything gets diluted on the receiving end but you get the full benefit. Go for it...

  • @richaaaay  8 weeks

If I could sing like you...As well as you I suppose is more like it. Might be a little strange if I actually sang like you...Thanks for the comments.

Hi itโ€™s Karl, as I said in the comment we are down south, Eastbourne. I have two kids, one is at primary school. Both my partner and myself work, my partner is a teacher, so hone schooling has been tough. Due to health reasons Iโ€™ve been in a state of lockdown since September 2020. Itโ€™s all been very strange.

  • @majordanby  8 weeks

Hey you are welcome. Itโ€™s a bit of a cheat as there are two people recording with Majordanby. We usually write together, but lockdown has prevented meeting up for so long. Danโ€™s almost got to 14 on his own though.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 20

Thanks so much for the kind comment on "Be happy that all is as it is"! I would look VERY forward to it! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @maesparrow Feb 18

Thank youuuu for your comments ๐Ÿ˜€ i record my songs with a microphone i bought a kittle while ago. It was about โ‚ฌ120,- but its really handy because you can clip it onto e.g. a desk and tgrn play guitar and sing at the same time. It also has a little filter to remove unwanted sound. I plug the microphone into my computer and then use the free program called audacity to record and edit ๐Ÿ˜€ hope thats helpfull!!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 18

Wow! This so wonderful what you created here! I love all about it! The melody is gorgeous and the chorus with these beautiful harmonies superb! You have such a beautiful voice, what a fantastic vocal delivery and I absolutely LOVE how you sing, for example, that "always on my mind"-part... Thank you very, VERY much for creating such a wonderful song for these words... May I ask you for a favour? Could you, please, make it downloadable or send me an mp3 on my email address, which is
    arthurrossi18@yahoo.com
since I would love to keep it and listen to it also when it is not available on this site any more.
    Thanks so much once again!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 17

Hey! Thanks a lot for creating a song for "Good evening, my Belgrade"! I am very, very excited to hear it! ๐Ÿ˜€ There is no problem about having several versions of songs for the same set of lyrics, it also happened a few times in the past... I am so excited to hear it! I have already added you as collaborator, but, please, feel free to re-post it if you prefer... Once again, thanks so much for bringing these words to life...

  • @mikeb Feb 13

Thanks for the comment on Get a Grip! I donโ€™t have anything on Spotify but maybe one day! Thanks for asking ๐Ÿ™‚

  • @sourcedecay  Feb 8

Thanks for your comment on "Sunday". I think you hit the nail on the head about it having a streak of hope in it. I find that I'm more drawn to writing sad songs but can't ever let them stay completely sad and always end up injecting that bit that turns things around somewhere in the lyrics.

  • @maesparrow Feb 4

Thank you for your lovely comment, it really made my day (as well) and speaking about talent- look at you!!!!! Very excited to hear new songs from you ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @arthurrossi Feb 3
