Think I am going to keep it simple this year. Find a sound that I like and use a looper pedal with my ancient drum machine to build up some layers.

I quite like the idea of just tweaking the tone on my guitar to get a bass sound and the increasing volume to build up some dynamics. I'm planning to get some harmonies in my vocals by recording the different parts on each chorus then combining them at the end.

It may just be a pipe dream or it might just work, who knows!

I will probably ditch it all and do whatever feels right at the time.

Thought I would try out my idea, it sounds poo and is a faff so I am just going to make it up as I go along.

Thanks so much for your comment on "Getting Old" - she was an absolute darling of a Gran.

  • @jwhanberry  Mar 1

  • @cherok40  Feb 27

Thanks a lot for listening to "The Morning Mist". And thanks also for your kind comments! It is not an oboe, but a soprano sax. πŸ˜€

  • @srcoops Feb 27

I like what you did with Green. Nice melody and the drum parts are effective. Thanks for squeezing this in.

  • @srcoops Feb 27

You are now shown as a collaborator on Green. Thanks

  • @porrectus  Feb 27

Thank you for you comment, I like those lines as well. Good luck on your last song.

  • @ampersandman  Feb 25

Thank you for your kind words on "Disobedient". Remembered me I finally had to add the liner notes. You're close to # 14 – go!

  • @frozenlonesome Feb 23

Thanks for listening and commenting on Solution To The Problem. Glad you enjoyed it. 😎

  • @srcoops Feb 23

You are most kind in your remarks regarding Changed Partner. Thank you! Glad you like the lyrics. One I kind of liked is still hanging around, Green.

  • @zecoop  Feb 23

E-mailed you the WAV. FB messaged the MP3 and chords. πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 23

OK... it's also going to be the one known as "The one where ZeCoop goes off the rails" I was trying to channel my inner Jimi Hendrix (badly - but it was fun) πŸ˜‰

  • @fonte Feb 22

Thanks for the comment on super blood wolf moon - and the rage against the machine reference! Always loved their riffs!

  • @zecoop  Feb 22

Ahem... hey, I just came up with something for you - gonna add bass and drums, but it's a dirty filthy guitar riff. πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 22

I definitely hope so - I'm trying to write a ton of songs and will send something your way this weekend. πŸ˜€

  • @vomvorton  Feb 22

Yeah, I worked out that it would be a 750% increase in my commute time! And they were really reluctant to offer any flexibility. The drive to Chesterfield isn't bad, and I work quite close to Holmebrook country park and Linacre reservoir so I've got a couple of nice places to go for lunchtime walks etc. Enjoying the drive more now that it isn't nighttime at 5pm, too.

Hope all is well with your work and that they're letting you program your singing synth robots on the job!

  • @vomvorton  Feb 22

Yeah, they announced that they were closing the Matlock office and moving everyone to Derby so I put my CV on Monster and got a new job immediately that pays better and where the software department aren't actively fighting against their own global IT policy all the time, haha. It's going well! Although I do have to drive to Chesterfield every day which is a bit of a shock after getting used to a 5 minute commute on foot.

  • @vomvorton  Feb 22

"What part of sing reduced you to tears?"

Mostly the pig lady. But also the gorilla family. Yes I'm replying to that comment within seconds of you posting it, I have a lot of thoughts about Sing. Also, slow day at work.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 18

I’m thinking slide guitar and maybe harmonica with a bass

  • @guatecoop  Feb 18

Alright then, I got the drums done and am thinking about what I’m going to add. I will keep going on it tonight. Making progress!

  • @treble  Feb 18

Thank you for your kind comments on my skirmish effort Coffee is for Closers only. Glad you're not in the same fix as my lonely man at the bar and that you were sipping coffee while waiting for your wife while reading it!

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 16

Ahhh! Yes, you heard the Sierra Online (SOL) music going thru my head! Rock opera is exactly how I was hearing it! lol And I LOVE GABRIEL KNIGHT!!!! I originally worked for their daughter company, The Sierra Network (TSN) (ImagiNation network (INN)), but them my job relocated to the Bay area and my now ex still worked for SOL, so didn't want to commute. My ex's boss pretty much promised me a job over there, tho at first I had to be in his dept, which was guess what the first game I tested was? Yup! Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within πŸ˜€ Yep lol SOL was THE BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR!!! They were AMAZING!! I wanna play GK again!!! I can't do that in February!! Okay, well, maybe I'll just listen to the soundtrack πŸ˜‰

  • @guatecoop  Feb 13

I just saw your email and listened to the clip. That sounds like it will work. How do you want to build it? I figured that I can take the clip and use that to build some structure and add some things. What sort of style are you thinking?

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 13

  • @jorh Feb 11

Thank you for you lovely comment on 'I fly' - its so nice to hear that your daughter enjoyed it, that really made my day πŸ˜€

  • @mmmmarcus Feb 11

  • @faststrings Feb 7

Hey Seemanski, thanks for the comment on my song I appreciate it.

  • @zecoop  Feb 7

Thanks for checking out the creepy subway song! I added some freaky guitar and remixed, so now it is about 1000 times more creepy, in case you wanted to check that out, lol. πŸ˜€

  • @thelostcartographer  Feb 6

Thanks for the comment! I AM a big Ghost fan, so I'm not surprised that some of that influence has slipped in.

  • @johncrossman  Feb 4

Hey hey, you're up on the #morph3 chain. Here's my entry/seed song.

Sorry it took so long! I put some info on that page, let me know if anything else would be helpful. And good luck!

  • @cherok40  Feb 4

Thank you very much for you nice comments! I'm looking forward to explore your music!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 1

Hey there! We are together on the random collab. How do you want to do this? It seems as though we can both play lots of things, so that won’t be an issue. I don’t write lyrics and generally don’t sing, but can. I mentioned a way to collab in the forum how one person starts with 1 instrument track and then it goes back and forth until it’s finished. Pretty fun and challenging. Or the traditional way....doesn’t matter to me. I look forward to it!

  • @helenseviltwin  Feb 1

Re: learning EDM - I have had a reasonable amount of success with youtube tutorial videos. I pick one and then follow it through, but with different chords/rhythms/melodies so I end up with my own thing.

  • @tan482  Feb 1

Thanks for stopping by to listen! πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Jan 30

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thanks a ton my friend! First graders will appreciate any spelling errors!

  • @shortdan  Jan 29

Hey there! Thank you for that 😊 All good here with the little one - would be even better if he remembered how to sleep at night πŸ˜” Ha!

Here's to making it up as you go along. Whatever I plan to do before February, that's inevitably the fall back position I end up adopting!

  • @petemurphy  Jan 29

Heyyyy! Thanks for the note. I hope you have all the fun!

  • @paulh1237  Jan 27

Very excited to hear some seemanski goodness. Maybe a Collab again this year?

  • @tobermory  Jan 26

Yeah! Good possibility I'll be able to do a few songs this year. Looking forward to loopy stuff, I have an EH Cathedral that can do that stuff but I have zero skill with that technique

  • @tobermory  Jan 26

  • @vomvorton  Jan 25

Hey! All good here, I look forward to hearing your new stuff!

  • @nuj4x Jan 2019

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

Had a good 2018, and I certainly hope yours was great too. I definitely want to try to get a song done together. Whatever happens... But I always love composing with you! πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

That's great news! Let's hear that kiddo on a song... I got my 5 year old nephew on one last year

  • @zecoop  Jan 2019

Hoping that you can carve out time from your wonderful family and do some music! And hopefully together... πŸ˜€
