My name is Steve Hedges Jr. and I live in Lakeville Ma. This will be my 3rd FAWM It has inspired me to work on my vocals and guitar playing. Still not where I want to be but I’m getting better. I’ve made it to 14 both years so far. Hoping to do it again!

I’m going to try and record all of my own songs this year but we’ll see.
I hope everyone has a great month of creating. Be blessed.

Thank you so much for being a part of my dad's FAWM (@srcoops)... Let me know if it would be ok to have your song on his Bandcamp compilation album. If it is ok and you are able, please feel free to send me the WAV version to zecoop at yahoo dot com. Also let me know what info you would like to be included on Bandcamp. Thank you once again!!! 😀

  • @matthijs Feb 23

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

No worries... My fault - I just took too quick a look on my phone. 😀

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

Sorry, I missed the collaboration part of your post. I only post collaborations where I truly worked with someone to co-write a song. Thanks

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

Actually, can you take me off as collaborator? I would love to have you put the link to my song in your song, but the lyrics are yours. Thanks!

  • @zecoop  Feb 21

Sure thing... post the link on your song. Always nice to have a reference for your readers! I got the vocals from CTS last night so I’ll be mixing the full version this weekend... 😎

  • @garlajoie  Feb 13

Hey Steven, didn't even notice it was you I was listening to! That Twinkle Twinkle tune, I was blown away man. Yes I'm back, my personal goal is to hit 9 this year and break last year's attempt...

  • @celineellis  Feb 12

  • @sph  Feb 12

Thank you for your words on "When you know..."

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 10

😀 Perhaps a Facebook video call would be best then.

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 10

Aw, thanks for your kind comments on "Just Maybe." To be honest, I did just that when I was 22... just outta college. Nobody believed me, thought I'd be back...but the truth is I found myself after I left and became me. I found a husband and had a couple kids...but... I moved back in time as my parents aged. Obviously a lot more than that happened, but it might be the girl that you are talking about needs just that to help find herself. I always felt like I was trying to be what everyone else wanted me to be. Best wishes to her, and best wishes to you on your album when you release it! 😀

  • @haim  Feb 9

Hi man! I see we are both on 3 songs, how is it going?
I haven't started my third song yet, but I feel okay so far with my result. How about you?

  • @kingwoodkowboy  Feb 8

s7even, thanks for reviewing "The Other Side Of The Song".

  • @sayda Feb 8

yes will do! promise, by Sunday latest 😉

  • @sayda Feb 8

Hey! yes I totally did, I'm just taking a 1-2 day break from FAWM haha. But I'll be back at it Sunday at the latest and will definitely get to your tune you sent!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 7

It's up now. Let me know if the rotation is a problem. Fixed. Sometimes FAWM truncates links it seems.

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 7

    K. Here it is: G to Bm. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eeZ...
Sorry, should have checked first. Google say's it's still processing.

BTW, noticed your Facebook link up top is broken. Seems the right address is https://www.facebook.com/DjS7EVEN

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 7

Tried to do a little video clip but my phone died. Once it comes back I'll do something very short (G to Bm to G) and post a link.

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 7

(Continued...) but is horrendous for transitioning to a Bm. All that said, any time you have a finger potentially in common between two chords, use it as an anchor. It'll help tremendously. This is one of the best pieces of advice I can give on guitar.

Are you using standard tuning? EADGBE (Elephants and Donkeys Grow Big Ears) from thick to thin strings)?

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 7

Glad you took the comments well. 😀

I hope you'll tolerate the teacher in me potentially offering too much or irrelevant advice here:
Since The Preacher is in A, you have a few options:
    1) Play open in A: A, C#m, A, F#m, D, E
    2) G @ 2 (which you obviously did): G, Bm, G, Bm, Em, C, D
    3) D @ 7: D, F#m, D, F#m, Bm, G, A,
    4) C @ 9: C, Em, C, Em, Am, F, G (this one sounds gorgeous and kind of fitting for this setting, but it's very high and a bit challenging without a cutaway on the guitar)

One golden piece of advice I can give from G to Bm: use the anchor finger. The two chords share a note (B). Don't move that finger. Use it as an anchor to give you confidence and security. Pivot on that pointer finger as you shift between the two chords. If you're playing your G with your ring, middle, and pinky fingers (with your pointer in the air ready to play for a G7), you'll need to change how you play a G according to the context. That way of playing works very well for a G7, but is horre

Someone has done Preacher. You could also take a shot at it or consider Mysterious Ways, Helping Hands, or another that is still unspoken for.
    Thanks for your interest.

  • @sayda Feb 6

sounds good! send to : contact@saraheide.com

  • @sayda Feb 6

@s7even hey! however you like 😀 I've got partially written things I can throw your way, and same if you have some poetry or half written songs, feel free to throw it my way to finish. I think that's pretty low key and easy 😉 Let me know!
