Artist Bio

Influences:   Classical, Gothic, Metal, Industrial, Opera, so forth and so on

Hello, I'm Alexandre, composer, music producer (?) and classically trained singer from Brazil.
In a time where we most need art it's been really hard to touch it and keep it close to me, but this FAWM I intend to make good on my namesake and rekindle the fire, though I don't know what form this inferno is going to take this time. Expect anything - including nothing - we'll see. Happy fawming to everyone hope you are all safe and sound and that the songs we make this year are our anthem of freedom and healing

Thank you so much for listening to "Cantor For Pearls," and for your comments! I am so pleased that you liked it; you made me look at it a whole different way.

Hi Alexandre, thank you so much for those listens + comments. They’ve really made my evening! 😀

I see. I get the koto and shamisen mixed up all the time, but I can see how I might have heard "harpsichord" out of one of them in particular. That's even more clever, mixing Japanese folk instruments with harsh guitar and operatic vocals.

Alexandre, thank you. Yes, indeed - I think I've always understood that on some level. In the past, I've used the metaphor of a Wave. You can either fight against it (& probably lose - i.e. drown) or try to ride it in order to keep yourself afloat. It sort of is the same thing with darkness. There is the cold darkness you can lose yourself in & the warm darkness that wraps itself around you & keeps you safe from the evils in the world beyond. I know I'm at peace with that second darkness. And the first kind has rarely bothered me since those Dark Times of my youth. I think at my age, right now, I'm looking back at those years with yearning (for the freedom I once enjoyed & took for granted). It is sort of a mid-life crisis, in a way. But it is also helping me come to terms with a lot of the issues I faced back then & never truly resolved. Catharsis indeed. And you are helping me on this journey. For that, I thank you from the depths of my being.

Thank you so much for the listens & the comments - especially on those long songs. Speaking of, yeah - I think you're right about Sanity Lapse - it's not a feast of depression, but one of catharsis. Maybe I'm starting to come to terms with my Dark Times. Thank you for helping me realize that. It means a lot to me.

p.s. I gotta find some time to catch up on your tunes, sorry.
