Artist Bio

Influences:   Anyone who has a go

This is my second FAWM, I got so much out of doing it last year. I used my FAWM songs and a couple of others to produce an album (What You Need) that I put out through Bandcamp and raised over £200 for the local foodbank during the lockdown. I hope to do the same this year with any proceeds going to FareShare (Fighting Hunger, Tackling Food Waste).

I tend to write singer-songwriter stuff normally with a simple bass, drums and guitar backing. As I've done no band gigs since lockdown (apart from one outdoor session in August) I've spent my music time songwriting and recording and have tried to do something every day. So I should be "match fit" for February, if I haven't burned myself out!

This year I expect an interesting event given what the world's been through. There's a huge amount of emotion waiting to come out I'm sure.

Best wishers to all fellow Fawmers.

Thank you, Panch, for taking so much time to listen and leave thoughtful comments on my songs. Once again this year, I've enjoyed everything you created. There are certain FAWMers where I can always go and know I'll hear something good, and you're one of them. No worries about a collab this year: I didn't have any particular idea for one, just thought it would be fun. Next year we'll give it a go.

  • @majordanby  Feb 22

I’m surprised you can’t hear them there, they are very loud. Dan posted his song and the Seagulls song at the same time, and the difference in sound quality is immense. Both done on iPhones.

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 20

Thanks! Can't believe it began as an acoustic ballad, lol

  • @themelgoexperience  Feb 18

Thanks for your comment on The Riff, you're right about underdog trash being a good line, on reflection I've made it the title of the song.

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 8

Thanks! Condenser mics are too revealing on my voice. I bought the Shure after finding out Bono uses one in the studio. Good enough for him...

  • @mikeb Feb 8

  • @oddbod  Feb 7

A lot of my friends are bigger Eagles fans than me - season ticket holders. I still follow them but I haven't been to a game since 2018.

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 7

Thanks for your kind words, and hope you make it through OK.

  • @mikeb Feb 6

Thanks for the comment on my skirmish song!

  • @mikeb Feb 5

Thanks for the listen and comment on my latest collab song with Geoff!

  • @jonmeta  Feb 5

Thanks for the encouraging comment, Panch. I’ll send you a chord chart for Captain Tom if you like. Maybe we can work it into a full song. The first chord is a straight D chord but with a d+b in the left hand, so a D6 chord. It wasn’t theoretical, it just sounded nice 😀

  • @mikeb Feb 4

Thanks for the listen and comment on my Painting Challenge song!

  • @mikeb Feb 4

Hey, I put you on my 'Watch List' - great tunes! I noted that each song seems to cut in, as though a second or so got chopped off the beginning of each file.

  • @oddbod  Feb 3

I used to gig in bands a bit but not for many a year and not around these parts, more in south east London where I used to live.

  • @oddbod  Feb 3

Hi - West Sussex? I'm in that neck of the woods. Have a great FAWM.

I like your music and I'd be up for a collab, -- keys, harmonies, that reluctant third verse, etc.

  • @jonmeta  Jan 29

Hey, great to see you back again. I'm looking forward to some twang!
